Tiresias
It's sad to say I can see us selling him on this ground the day before season starts and not replacing him, mind you reckon mail are probably jumping the gun, he'll most likely just play sponsorless, maybe he can be sponsored by one of those sharia law banks

ponsaelius
Good plan from Ashley to be fair. Bring in tacky and fundamentally immoral sponsorship deal to piss off all the Muslim playing staff, readymade excuse to flog the lot of them.
Mole_Toonfan
So let me guess this straight Cisse is fine with wearing a Virgin Money logo but is against a Wonga logo. Doesn't add up to me.
Hudson
Tbf to Virgin Money, they are the "good bank". Are they fuck

Guess you have to draw a line somewhere, making a distinction between a proper bank and a payday loans company doesn't seem too unreasonable to me. Being religiously against wonga.com makes a lot more sense to me than most religious beliefs anyway
Guest NobbyOhNobby
So let me guess this straight Cisse is fine with wearing a Virgin Money logo but is against a Wonga logo. Doesn't add up to me. Give over. No correlation between the two, and you're completely making some kind of bullshit awful reasoning here. Show me where you can get a virgin money loan, with no credit check, at 1000% apr, whereby the apr increases with every payment missed. One preys on those in society who are unable to obtain credit or require immediate credit to survive irrespective of cost, the other is a bank

(in fact the banks are worse as they carry more power leading us to where we are)

Deuce
Be funny if Cisse's objections to Wonga don't stem from his religious beliefs but because he doesn't want to wear such an ugly fucking logo plastered across his chest.
Guest Nobbys Trumpet
They renamed the stadium St James' Park and painted the top of the East stand plain again, but if they put a Newcastle Brown Ale logo on the top instead of Wonga I think I'd loan everything for the rest of my life
toontownman
Fuck me if we really sell Cisse over this and replace him with Andy Carroll Not that I wouldn't like to see Wor Andy back btw..

Cronky
If this is true, then either a) Cisse wants a move and he's using this as an excuse to force it or b) he's got a bit big for his boots. I noticed towards the end of last season, on the pitch Cisse was doing a lot of complaining about his team mates, so b) might well be the explanation here. That's not good for team morale and I don't rate him that highly anyway, so as far as I'm concerned he can go.
morpeth mag
When he quits gambling in the casinos around town I'll take his religious stance on Wonga a little more seriously.

BlueStar
Wonga aren't really comparable to just any other bank, in many countries their business model is illegal and would get them locked up as loan sharks.
David Icke - Son of God
Are footballers not allowed to take a moral stance now? Wonga aren't your average lender.
Big Geordie
Pity Ashley and Llambias only saw the cash can Wonga came along with their offer. This club is morally bankrupt - seriously.
huss9
Are footballers not allowed to take a moral stance now? Wonga aren't your average lender. quotes are that it's a religious problem....seems casinos and ploughing Miss Newcastle are not though. its all paper talk - there's no evidence of actual quotes from cisse himself.
