I honestly can't understand why their are NUFC fans on twitter outwardly sharing these photos? That photo was tweeted to Wraith, what the f*** is the point?

Because ultimately - rightly or wrongly - people will defend the club ahead of any player, despite how previously popular they may be. Even if the club is rotten to the core and run by absolute c***s with no morals.

Except its not in the clubs favour if he's hounded out.

I quite agree, but it's the same any time a player is looking like they might leave for any reason. They transform into greedy/hypocritical/shit bastards almost overnight. The club have it so easy it's unreal.

fingers crossed this rumbles on till next summer.

It beggars belief.

 100 per cent. It's like clockwork.

I don't think it's natural to start foaming at the mouth calling players they once adored greedy judas cunts as soon as they get into a dispute with the pricks running the club or look like they might leave, no. Would say that's pretty extreme behaviour.

Management seems totally incapable of handling any situation professionally. This isn't that hard of a problem. If he has an issue wearing the logo, you meet with him, let him know that you appreciate his concerns and will try to work with him to address the situation. But you also lay out the facts that he has a contract with the club, that the club has a contract with the sponsor, and that those contracts present certain limitations on what each party is entitled to do. If they can reach a reasonable resolution within the confines of those limitations, great. If not, then promptly do what needs to be done to mitigate the harm to the club. Above all, do it quickly, and do your best to keep it out of the press.

Duo and 'polic are bang on imo.

The fans/local media really should be blasting Wonga instead of directing their fury at Cisse because his beliefs seem bit mixed up.

What should we be blasting Wonga for? Just existing?

Agreed.

I'm curious as to why all of this is kicking off only just now when Wonga was announced in September of last year.

Well its only really since they returned to pre-season training that they've had to wear kit with 'Wonga' on it.

Until now he didn't have to wear anything with Wonga on it.

The club probably knew about this photos ages ago, they probably have CCTV of him and all his visits, they just waited for someone else to leak it.

But isn't it natural to support the club ahead of individuals? I disagree with rapid changes of mind over players obviously.

It is but people taking the time to send photos of Cisse in casino's to people on twitter, i can't get along with that. It't totally unnecessary. At the end of the day it boils down to Cisse >>> Wonga for me

Oh aye, me neither, I agree with you on that.

I only object to Wonga a couple of degrees more than a lot of other sponsors, so that's not really much of a factor for me (although I'd rather not have them). But you're right that Cisse has only ever been good for us and we have to reason to dislike him now.

To be fair it was reported almost from day one that we'd have a problem with the Muslim players over this. Cisse was consistently mentioned.

Yep, agree with that as well.

Although I wouldn't want the club to rush to the conclusion that Cisse needs to be shipped out too soon. The balance is hard to get right, it might still be sorted. We needed to be looking at a couple of strikers anyway, so it wasn't a totally unexpected need.

Erm, yes? They exist and they're shit. They're also sponsoring us.

Right, but that's kind of a given. You can't really 'blast' a company for existing. I don't like them, but they aren't breaking any laws and moral judgement on them is subjective at best. We're not likely to force out a sponsor by objecting to it, and I doubt strength of feeling would be strong enough anyway.

Nobody should be blasting Cisse either mind.

Best I could find on google (from 1/9/2012 to 1/6/2013) was a few articles from the start by local clerics/imams about it, usual daily mail troublemaking although I think there was a telegraph article in there too. Nothing actually from the players themselves. And then radio silence.

I reserve the right to be disappointed in him for leaving it to the 11th hour to start this.

If you're making a player train alone some TEN FUCKING MONTHS after the deal was announced then you're doing it wrong. They're absolutely fucking useless man, how can't you see it?

Or he's made his feelings known for a while and the club have left it until the 11th hour to... erm... do nothing?

You know what the people running the club are like man, they haven't got a clue.

imo carroll was greedy, enrique was disingenuous more than hypocritical and for s**** b******s, well, thats maybe a reaction to the overrating that many give our players.

edit, i still can't forgive given for his manner of leaving, couldn't blame him for wanting to leave but the way it was engineered was disgraceful.
