He needed benched for this game.

He needed service. He gets fuck all of it.

I agree with that too. His confidence is fucked though and he just isn't functioning in this side right now. I'm not saying it's his fault, he doesn't really work in a Pardew side like, so he should have been benched.

Thing is, what we think of movement is running down the channels so the forward can get the ball, look up and realise the is ABSOLUTELY NO ONE within 25 yards of him and either pass it back to our FB or try to win a throw in.

Cisse's idea of movement is move a yard or 2 away from the CB on their blind side, making just enough space for himself if we managed to put a quality ball in.

As there is just slightly above 0% chance of putting a quality ball in it is incredibly clear that he's not much good for us and we're of no use to him.

What we need is the Real Ronaldo. Someone you can give a shit ball to, he'll control it, take on 5/6 defenders all on his own and score and the only reason our midfield will need to cross the half way line is to jog over and congratulate him.

Job for Graham Carr that one.

That's only half the problem though. His hold up play has been discussed at length, but his movement isn't great at the moment and he doesn't look sharp at all. It's easy to blame a lack of creativity from other players, but I don't think he's particularly helping them either with his forward-play.

His play outside the box is rubbish. We were told that when we signed him and we can't expect him to be something he's not. He's a poacher who shouldn't be starting if we don't plan to create chances for him.

This and to be honest poacher have no place in the modern game.

He has to actually look for the chances and make runs though, at the same time. He can't expect to just stand in the 18 yard box and have our creative players not only find him with a pass or a cross, but also completely remove any defenders that are marking him on his behalf. He's static as hell at the moment.

He always goes too early, As soon as we get the ball he's off making a run hence all the offsides.

The biggest problem we have is he doesn't drop into space and turn and run at the opposition either and because he's not quick we can't just play it down the flanks for him to chase.

Service was no good for him, not saying he was good but yet again he's never getting balls in behind

He doesn't show for them, and when he does he either mistimes it and gets caught offside or doesn't have the sharpness to get on the end of the pass. It's as much the responsibility of the striker to create that kind of scenario as it is the midfielder. He's not playing on the shoulder effectively.

His game is about ghosting into positions.

Hes just not that good

He's good at finishing off chances... That's the difference between when he joined and now. When he joined he had support regularly with Ben Arfa, Cabaye and Ba playing a lot closer to him than anyone is now.

If you are not providing him with that sort of service its really a waste of time.

In the modern game a striker who can only finish chances is simply not very good

He is if others can create him enough chances. Cisse´s link up play aint so bad, his touch today was.
