ExiledGeordie
He'll certainly be playing with a point to prove tonight that's for sure
The College Dropout
Really hope putting him through the middle improves him but i'm not convinced. Thought he was good against man united and scored a good goal but then he was absolutely diabolical against arsenal. Pretty much played with 10 men the amount of times he mis-controlled/gave away the ball. We shouldn't really be asking him to be too involved with build up play though. You have to in this day and age. Even Defoe has been improving that side of the game and Bent isn't getting a game partly because of it. Ba is hardly Bergkamp but he's better in that regard and Cissse needs to develop that part of his game. That's a fair point. I do think he's equal to Ba in terms of hold up though, even better on some occasions. He can't really do the brute force backing in type stuff but his ball control is often much better and he releases the ball quicker. There's a bit of unfair stuff being said about him in the Ba thread as well with regards to him playing in a 2. I don't see any reason why he wouldn't flourish in a 2 if we found him the right partner and created some chances from wide, Debuchy should help massively with this. IMO he always goes for the difficult finish. It doesn't help. You can't just be a poacher in this division. Link-up and/or bully defences. If Hernandez had the link-up play of Welbeck, he'd be really fighting for a first XI place.
KaKa
Papiss through the middle in a 4-3-3? Come on, it's going to be a thrill. It is Everton though, which isn't the easiest match up, but I have no doubt he'll look much more of a threat tonight. Really looking forward to it! ponsaelius
I'll be 4-4-2 with Shola and Cisse.
The College Dropout
I think he enjoys the responsibility of being the main man. same with Demba.
KaKa
I'll be 4-4-2 with Shola and Cisse. Would still work better on the whole, as Shola's style of play, when he's awake, is a better fit to partner Cisse. Really hope it's a 4-3-3 with Marveaux behind Cisse. That would have some exciting potential.

Si
The pressure really is on Cisse to perform, in that respect, I feel sorry for him. Critical period for him, Pards needs to build the team around him now and make him the main man.

Mick
Critical period for him, Pards needs to build the team around him now and make him the main man. He's going to play in the position he should have played all season, I hope.
Elliottman
The pressure really is on Cisse to perform, in that respect, I feel sorry for him. The best players perform under such pressure I suppose. Lets hope Cisse can.
KaKa
Cisse's movement is outstanding, needs the ball deliverd through to him on time though, which is why it would be great to see a proper attacking mid in behind him. The guy will score goals. No doubt. Everton will be tough though, so probably best not to jump on his case, if it doesn't quite click tonight in aprticular. I'm hopeful though. Love the guy. A lot more confident of us creating chances for him with Anita and Marv in the team.
henke
The pressure really is on Cisse to perform, in that respect, I feel sorry for him. I don't think it is really. He knows now he'll play centrally in either a 442 or 433 until at least the the end of the season regardless of how well he plays or how many goals he scores. He knows now he'll play centrally in either a 442 or 433 until at least the the end of the season regardless of how well he plays or how many goals he scores. Of course the pressure is on him, we need goals and he's currently the only player we have who is fit and capable of scoring on a regular basis, he's under massive pressure. Jack Flash
He's certainly being thrown in at the deep end. "Score loads or we're going down" is his current situation.

He knows now he'll play centrally in either a 442 or 433 until at least the the end of the season regardless of how well he plays or how many goals he scores. Ive spoken to alot of people who claimed Ba only got the amount of goals he has because the entire attack was tailored around him at the greedy end of it, including long balls. They fully expected our offense to pick up and become much more fluid and balanced with Cisse as the spearhead. Personally I think Ba has worked magic with a fairly asmathic supply, massive disrespects to his efforts for us so far to claim otherwise. Easy to slag him off now that he is off though, Poor old Ba. Jack Flash
You really know how to put a positive spin on things, Jack. That is the current situation though It's pointless looking to the future when it's massively uncertain for a number of reasons.
Guest loven Mag 11
Papiss, i wish Demba had fucked off a long time ago, your the man we need, aint nobody better than you.
Guest TCD23
Well he's being played in his proper position in quite a big match and it's at home and everybody's counting on him. This all seems to be the set-up to a hell of a performance and a moment we'll all be talking about at the end of the season as when Cisse kicked his season in gear... Of course the memory of when I was at the West Ham match and he almost fell over trying to kick the ball in a position he would've been able to score in with his eyes closed last season worries me. Hopefully we'll get the Cisse who played against Chelsea tonight.
