Guest Heneage
That Wolves game with Shearer's pen miss was my first PL game at St James Park thought you were older! This is pretty sickening. I'm pretty sure mine was 27 September 1994 vs Royal Antwerp. Oh aye, only start going when we're in Europe? Pah. Aye, at 9 years of age I made the conscious decision that League football didn't warrant my attendance. I needed the European stage to keep me interested. .... the only other game that was competing for 'my first game' was Bristol City in the League Cup, but my research tells me that was the following season. That was my first game. That Wolves game with Shearer's pen miss was my first PL game at St James Park thought you were older! This is pretty sickening. I'm pretty sure mine was 27 September 1994 vs Royal Antwerp. That was mine as well. I think the common denominator is that we've all got cheap t*** parents tbh Mine was a birthday present from our neighbours who were season ticket holders. I had no idea what was going on, but I liked the jumping up and down bit.
Hanshithispantz
I have no idea if it was the first, but I seem to have early memories of us playing some side who had their keeper sent off and an outfield player having to go in goal (we scored about 5-6 goals). I have no idea who it was, what competition it was in, or if indeed it actually ever happened.

Yorkie
Dyer was fucking mint just off the front man; definitely his best position imo. One of my favourite little partnerships in my time supporting Newcastle was Martins-Dyer. And since we're doing this, and since i just fucking feel like it, this is my entire list of games i've been to: Newcastle 1-1 Blackburn Rovers (3-4 on pens) [1998, Worthington Cup 3rd Round] Newcastle 3-1 Valerenga ..................................[2003, Waffa Cup] Newcastle 2-0 Barnsley .....................................[2007, Carling Cup] Newcastle 1-1 Arsenal ......................................[2007] Newcastle 0-2 Manchester City .........................[2008] Newcastle 1-1 Middlesbrough ...........................[2008] Newcastle 3-0 Reading .....................................[2008] Newcastle 2-1 Valencia .....................................[2008, Friendly] Newcastle 1-2 Hull City .....................................[2008] Newcastle 2-0 Aston Villa ..................................[2008] Newcastle 0-1 Hull City ......................................[2009, FA Cup 3rd Round Replay] Newcastle 0-0 Portsmouth ................................[2009] Newcastle 3-1 Middlesbrough.............................[2009] Newcastle 1-0 Sheffield Wednesday ..................[2009] Newcastle 3-1 Plymouth Argyle ..........................[2009] Newcastle 0-0 Bristol City ...................................[2009] Newcastle 2-1 Doncaster Rovers ........................[2009] Newcastle 3-1 Peterborough United....................[2009] Newcastle 3-0 Swansea City ..............................[2009] Newcastle 0-0 Derby County ..............................[2010] Newcastle 2-2 West Brom ...................................[2010] Newcastle 2-0 Crystal Palace ..............................[2010] Newcastle 3-1 Preston North End .......................[2010] Newcastle 6-1 Barnsley .......................................[2010] Newcastle 3-0 Scunthorpe United .......................[2010] Newcastle 2-0 Nottingham Forest .......................[2010] Newcastle 4-1 Blackpool .....................................[2010] Newcastle 2-2 Ipswich Town ...............................[2010] Newcastle 1-2 Stoke City .....................................[2010] Newcastle 2-2 Wigan Athletic ..............................[2010] Newcastle 0-4 Arsenal .........................................[2010, Carling Cup 4th Round] Newcastle 1-2 Blackburn Rovers ..........................[2010] Newcastle 1-1 Bolton Wanderers .........................[2011] Newcastle 2-1 Birmingham City ............................[2011] Newcastle 4-1 Wolves ..........................................[2011] Newcastle 3-3 West Brom ....................................[2011] Newcastle 0-0 Fiorentina ......................................[2011, Friendly] Newcastle 3-1 Blackburn Rovers ..........................[2011] Newcastle 2-2 Tottenham Hotspur .......................[2011] Newcastle 2-1 Blackburn Rovers ..........................[2012, FA Cup 3rd Round] P40. Mick
We had just went 10 games without a win in all competions. That's enough to get quite a few managers the sack. It was 9 games without a win, 5 draws and 4 defeats and we had mitigating circumstances in 2004-05, like Shepherd announcing that Bobby was in his final season. No wonder the players thought that they could do anything they wanted. Even Man U had problems when Ferguson said that he was going to retire and changed his mind when things were turning to shit for them.
Ronaldo
No question about it, Bobby was perhaps the perfect man-manager for the modern footballer. Dealt superbly with the likes of Bellamy, Robert and Dyer, and it's no surprise the wheels fell of when he was replaced with his polar opposite. I do find it funny how Shearer gets off scot-free for disrespecting him in pre-season against Celtic.
Ronaldo
Dyer was f***ing mint just off the front man; definitely his best position imo. One of my favourite little partnerships in my time supporting Newcastle was Martins-Dyer. What is it with you and 06-07, man? It was an absolute shitefest of a campaign, the best moment of which came when Allardyce was announced. Only 08-09 was worse. Dyer's best position was CM, no question. Think you're getting me mixed up with someone here like. It was a fucking awful year and i detested Roeder, more so than even Souness. I've said that on several occasions. But that partnership was fun for a bit. Worked well.

Kanj
Used to love seeing Dyer playing CM, dropping deep to pick up the ball, play it forward get it back and make some quick passes and darting runs. Remember Dyer away to Southampton? He was unplayable at times with his face and close control.
