Dr.Spaceman
Sunderland manager Martin O’Neill is making a £10million raid on former club Aston Villa for James Collins and Gabriel Agbonlahor, according to The People. by @SkySportsLewis 9:58 AM James Collins So predictable. Won't get them relegated but won't get them highet than 10th.

Dr Venkman
That'll be 4 CBs across the back for Marty then. Imagine the attacking impetus out wide when they go with three in the middle! Cuellar and Collins marauding up the wings!
Dr. Nguyen Van Falk
He's like a managerial dinosaur. So one dimensional and old fashioned. Get the idea he's proper stubborn too, won't take any ideas/suggestions from anyone else.
alexthegreat
Their squad as it stands at the moment: Goalkeepers: Westwood 22 Mignolet Defenders 2 Bardsley 4 Turner 5 Brown 11 Richardson 12 Kilgallon 16 O'Shea 19 Bramble 42 Egan Angeleri Midfielders 6 Cattermole 7 Larsson 8 Gardner 14 Colback 15 Vaughan 18 Meyler 23 McClean 26 Cook 27 Elmohamady 28 Sessegnon . Forwards 9 Campbell 10 Wickham 17 Ji 38 Lynch Too my biased eyes it looks woeful. Richardson, Elmohamady, and Angeleri all likely to be away (though the latter two are hopeless anyway). Theres been rumours about Sessegnon as well. Theres an awful lot to do for O'Neill to do in the next 8 weeks. If they don't do much between now and the start of the season then 14/1 on another relegation looks very tempting, would be a good bet to cheer on. Neil
They'll be too solid, i.e. boring, to go down. They'll drift around mid-table, at one point threatening to finish in the top 8 after a couple of 1-0 wins in a row, most likely after being dominated in each game, only for the 2nd half of the season to reveal their true level of about 12th. Whilst believing they've got a Champions League challenge at some point despite being way behind those positions.
Mole_Toonfan
O'Neill reminds me of Dalglish in so many ways.
Fenham Mag
If they sign Collins and Agbonlahor , I'm definitely putting on £50 for them to get relegated.
maybe_next_year
Agbonlahor for £10 million i don't think would actually be THAT bad. Collins though...
Fenham Mag
He was one of the worst strikers in the league last season.
maybe_next_year
He was playing under Alex McLeish though, hardly the greatest manager for a striker to be playing for.
Mole_Toonfan
He was playing under Alex McLeish though, hardly the greatest manager for a striker to be playing for. Agbonlahor is'nt even a striker anyway.... he's an inside-forward. Not a winger, but not a striker either and yes Agbonlahor is crap, all pace no substance. madras
That'll be 4 CBs across the back for Marty then. it's his signature isn't it.
madras
http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=713933 The collective mental lunacy with them lot is baffling. Llorente FFS. and yet we are the deluded ones ?
maybe_next_year
that pace is a pretty decent weapon when used well though, O'neill got his results early on with sunderland by riding his luck and catching teams on the break and i'd imagine he will be trying to do the same again. £10million isnt much really these days, you've got to remember we're pretty much an anomaly in transfers, getting the likes of Cisse and Cabaye so cheaply. I'd say Agbondlahor is a decent player for a middle/lower premier league club, which is exactly what Sunderland are.
Disco
That'll be 4 CBs across the back for Marty then. Imagine the attacking impetus out wide when they go with three in the middle! Cuellar and Collins marauding up the wings! Play for set pieces and rely on Larsson's delivery. Not that much different to what they did last year along with the shoot on sight at the edge of the box policy with Gardner.
Nobody
Agbonlahor is a decent enough player, would be a good signing for the mackems. Collins though. Please, please, please sign him.
TBG
All Agbonlahor has is pace and a big nose.

Cajun
Agbonlahor has had one decent spell in his career, as TBG said, all pace and not much else.
Tooj
Perfect for O'Neill's tactics though. Nine men behind the ball and leave some fast fucker up front.
