The RTG echo chamber effect: 1: Invent lie 2: Repeat lie (many times) 3: Lie becomes fact 4: Accept 'fact' 5: Repeat 'fact' Too many examples to mention, but lets go with Hatem Ben Awful, Cabaye=s***, Santon=s***, Pardew's casino debt, Catts for me like, Tiote=thug, N'Zogbia nailed on, 'Jawdee Nashun', Ponteland airport, Mag at Work, NETD, etc etc etc. On the plus side.....mackems ;D ;D ;D cisse was a perfect example of the RTG mindset....... thread starts, "he's on his way over to sign for us, gerrin exactly what we need/top european striker/quality we needed up front" facts come out thats he's actually headed a bit further inland and if i remember correctly this occurred over a bout 4mins when ssn announced where he was headed "he's not that good/won't adapt/needs 10 chances to score once" locally it's a mackemism, properly it's, as was pointed out to me, cognitive dissonance. Crazy that it's so long ago. Think it's the fact he looks so deceptively young, he's one of those that I still seem to picture as a 23 year old trying to fulfill his potential. Jermaine Jenas would be like Christmas and New Year rolled into one. - Clint Dempsey, a man that wants European football and his career's only big payday, will not take a massive step down to join a team that provides none of these. - Wilfried Zaha might be realistic but buying young English players normally works out well, doesn't it Mr Wickham? - Dimitar Berbatov has experienced Sunderland in away games. Why would he voluntarily go back there? Luckily for Sunderland, their more realistic targets like Heskey and Owen are still available TBF Owen is not realistic. The identity of the other two clubs Sunderland are now battling against is not entirely clear – Spurs, Everton, Liverpool and Newcastle have been linked with an interest in the player. But Spurs are believed to be the club in pole position with new manager Andre Villas-Boas looking to put his own stamp on the squad. The signing of Johnson would certainly send out a signal that AVB means business as Spurs look to challenge for a Champions League place. Sunderland, though, will continue to battle for a player who came within a whisker of joining them under Steve Bruce, only for the Black Cats to be blown out of the water by Manchester City’s 11th hour swoop. The move to Eastlands suited both Johnson and City at the time but the winger has not been getting regular games under Roberto Mancini. Johnson wants his future resolved, believing his bit-part involvement in Manchester City’s Premier League winning campaign cost him his international place. “I will be speaking to him about my situation,” he said, referring to Mancini. “There’s been no bust-up. But I think what happened to me at City last season was why I missed out at the Euros.” Sunderland have also far from given up hope of landing striker Steven Fletcher, despite Wolves’ fight to up the selling price. They were indulging in some piss take re why Sunderland can't sign players - basically because they'd have to live in Sunderland.
