Anderson
I've got a mate who works for UEFA, though not in the right area, so asked him. He got in touch with someone who basically said the rules haven't been officially published yet, he's pretty certain they haven't changed from last season (so that would mean CL qualifiers would have to win cup) but the bloke who runs the Europa League is on holiday! He said he'll ask him when he gets back. "but the bloke who runs the Europa League is on holiday." I think I've seriously underestimated how poorly UEFA is run. Fenham Mag
Sky Sports News @SkySportsNews Chelsea confirm captain John Terry has two cracked ribs sustained in first leg of Champion League quarter-final against Benfica. More on SSN The more injuries for Chelsea the better.

Sorry pet, he's gone on holiday. Can I get him to call you back?"
BlueStar
I know Chelsea have got a strong squad, but check out the four fixtures they've got in the space of nine days between the 15th and 24th of April http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/fixtures Playing teams of that quality in that space of time would leave any team utterly fucked for their next few premier league matches. Ketsbaia
And John Terry now has injured ribs. If you add a potential absence to their congested fixture list, they really could fall apart.

Hopefully after they are demoralised from their Champions League exit Hughes will have his usual mob kick everything that moves, leaving them completely fucked before their next game 3 days later... BlueStar
If it ends up we need 5th for Europe and we finish below Chelsea, Luiz not being sent off is going to really stick in my fucking throat. In all likelihood we would have beaten them and not had Taylor injured, keeping together the excellent defence we started with. If Everton get to the final I suppose we want Chelsea to join them. Not only an extra game for them but they'd know they were definitely in Europe from a runner's up spot at least, so they could stop giving a fuck about the league altogether, unless Spurs or Arsenal fuck up and they get a sniff at 4th. Guest Paxton
An envious mackem here. I think judging by today you've probably sealed your place to European football next season. You lot deserve it and fair play, but I still think the your manager is a total utter cock. I think if you can hold onto the likes of Krul, Ba and Tiote, and also get another financial backing in the summer by Ashley, top 4 isn't so far away for you next season. Depending on how the other top clubs around you spend.

Thanks for that, mustn't have been easy for you Still a bit worried that Everton will snatch europe from us via the cup, but this lot of players belong on the big stage. But being 2 points off 3rd into April....amazing stuff.

womblemaster
imo chelsea will get 18pts in lge, and us 12. Unless they slip up to say fulham, we have to go to stamford bridge and at least draw......the stoke and everton games are gonna be nail biting, as we have to win them. Cant see everton loosing in facup. apr 14th is gonna be BIG game
timeEd32
I think it's being slightly pessimistic (from our perspective) to mark Chelsea down for 18 pts.
Umer
If I'm honest the only way I can see us finishing in the top 4 is to win probably 5 of the last 6 games. The sad fact is, finishing in the top 4 is not in our hands, even if we won every game we could still only finish 5th. Spurs have a winnable run-in, I'd say tomorrow is their hardest fixture. Not sure what to think about arsenal considering they'd won 6 in a row before the qpr match, but I'm definietly supporting City on sunday!

Aye, it's a fucking travesty we've slipped away from the CL spots so that it's now out of our hands. Embarrassment of a season. Can't believe CL has remained a serious discussion going into April ffs. What a season.
Ketsbaia
I think Tottenham's away games, whilst looking simple on paper, will give them a lot of problems. Arsenal and Chelsea have a nice set of games, but Spurs are more catchable in my opinion.

bowlingcrofty
If we're serious about top 4 then we need 10 points from next 4 fixtures. Absolutely insane that it's possible for us. Just hope people don't get disappointed if it doesn't happen, which is the most likely outcome.
