Guest Phil K
Everyone wants Rangers to go into the 3rd division but the SFA/SPL will no doubt change everythin to suit them as usual. Proved massively wrong. Surprised the usual "masonic" bullsh*t hasn't been used. Celtic fans use it every time they lose to Rangers, after all. Its good they start from scratch as far as Im concerned Not that it'll stop Celtic fans moaning of course. I hope they arent playing them on the day of a Newcastle home match. Trains will be a nightmare. Although regardless of what their supporters are saying Green does not appear to have any money and they badly need some players in, along with the crazy running costs of Ibrox. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up in a position where they cannot fulfill their fixtures... Nah. It'll be tough for them, but I fully expect them to get successive promotions (and Celtic fans doing the "masonic referees sh*t as per) but fall flat on their face in Div 1. They'll have to wind back expectations, and learn a little humbleness to get back where they were. At the moment all they're doing is crying unfair. Bad start ! simmsy10
They should stop whining and just get on with it. They'd get more backing from neutrals if they did. Then if someways down the line something similar should happen at Celtic, they can then lecture those who have partied at their expense and Celtic fans would have no answer. But for crying out loud, Rangers fans. Just except it and get on with the job. They are mate. 80% of Rangers fans in a recent poll wanted to start in Div3! Good to hear, but didn't seem like that off the various news forums Thinks its to stick 2 fingers up to the SPL really. As for winning the league, they only have 6 players at the minute and still have a transfer embargo. Might not be as easy as some make out! They had agreed to sign Ian Black but only if they were in div 2 or above and if embargo was lifted!
Unbelievable
No less than they deserved.

At which point they're just going to go out and snap up every top player from division 2 and below, and probably a few first division players with the promise of 'we'll be up there in a couple of years, and further after that anyway'. SEMTEX
This result means that I'll watch 1 more Scottish Football match this year than I did last. Will be humorous to see Elgin vs Rangers at Ibrox. For about 10 minutes at least.
Guest Phil K
Is no one else getting disproportionately angry at the word 'Newco' yet? Idiotic, isn't it ? A change from Glasgow Rangers 2012 I suppose Only that many players have they ? They'll still have youth players better than most Div 3 clubs regardless though

Scottish Mag
alex thomson @alextomo WARNING. Club chairman "Everyone in that room heard that Stewart Regan informed Charles Green that there's no way "Rangers" will be in D3 . alex thomson @alextomo That's what really went on. Ignore any guff about "Rangers" definitely heading for D3. This fight has only just started.

leffe186
I'd have loved to have seen Rangers at Stenny, or East Stirling. Don't think my wife would agree to set foot in Falkirk again though.
gdm
So which teams are getting promoted at Rangers expense? Looks like Dundee to SPL, Airdrie (my home team) to SFL1 and I think stranraer to SFL2

Guest neesy111
What odds are they to get promoted? I suspect 1/100 would be fairly accurate.
Big Geordie
Common sense from the SFL clubs, but the SFA and SPL seem to be doing everything in their power to get Rangers back in the top league, asap. Makes you wonder why such a fuss was not kicked up for the likes of Gretna? One rule for Rangers, and one for the rest. Corrupt and rotten to the very core. Scottish football has a chance here to rid itself of corruption and a fresh start. Pity that all an sundry (those in power at the SFA and SPL) are as corrupt as the fuckers who destroyed Rangers in the first place.

At the end of the day money is the be all and end all for football clubs
Ameritoon
I'm so sick of this They've gone down the correct route to decide where the newco will play and it's still not a settled matter. Just stick them in Division Three and fuck off.
