Newcastle United 2 - 0 Liverpool - 01/04/12 - post-match reaction from page 45

Didn't seem like Enrique was that shaken up by the reception. Had a crappy game, but dealt with it unlike the greasy one.

He was never one to be showing too much emotion on the field I don't think. Hopefully went back to Liverpool with some food for thought though.

did enrique get  more grief than carroll due to his name fitting better into a catchy song ?

Some bloke singing "He paid for our team, he paid for our team, Andy Carroll, he paid for our team" was getting a good reception down the side of the East Stand after the game.

Dalglish's management of the Carroll and Enrique situation was horrendous. If one of your players is getting ripped to shreds every time they touch the ball then you shouldn't put them in the spotlight as much as he did. That last 10 minutes is possibly the lowest point of Enrique's career and getting taken off like that is probably the lowest point of Carroll's career. It's no wonder why the whole team just look utterly demoralized.

As for the game itself... Can't decide between that and Man Utd as the seasons best.

Someone else should've gone in goal to spare Jose's feelings? Yeah, OK.

Here we go again...

More to do with his confidence but you knew that.

So how should have Dalglish dealt with it?

By boring everyone to death by constantly arguing with them so the game would be called off. Voilà.

Two things wrong with that photo

1. Who is standing closest Jose or Gosling?

2.Why does Reina have a Greggs tattoo on his arm.

Compared to his size during the US friendlies, yeah. Imagine it's just training daily and not sitting at home with his injury setback last year.
