can't imagine him putting an #nufc on the end of his tweets if it was him, nevermind saying he's had a medical when he's supposed to be on holiday

They looked at Cabaye, looked at Ribery and thought, nah we can't compete with that

Tbf they could have looked at Ian Dowie (if he was still here) and still came to the same conclusion.

He's left sided though.

They moved Lahm back to the right where he's most natural and Alaba made the left back slot his own.

Bit like our situation where we need a fullback but Santon allows us scope to sign somebody for either side.

 We're spending 7.5mil on a FB

:yao:

It's like the Cisse signing, quite a huge fee by our standards for a player well past 25. It does seem that we have upgraded our transfer policy significantly since Christmas following our recent success.

Thought the lad was 26 years old,so hardly well past 25.

With the money we have brought in for Best and Forster you could look at it as only costing 2m,but agree that 7m for a FB with the current transfer policy we have is a tad over the top.

Fucking hell, i was one of the big ashley/llambias haters on here but ive cut them some serious slack saying as their vision and plan seems to be working (proved me fucking wrong).  They cant fucking win, they get criticised for not spending money and criticised when they do.

7 mil for a International full back, not a bad price...and like you say, we've alredy broughT money in for Best and Forster and if this dude does sign, it means we can sell Simpson.  Which will mean he is virtually paid for.

Its not like Carr wouldnt have reseached him either, we also have the Cabaye link.  Its not like its a wild 7 million stab in the dark on an unknown FB.

His age 26  :yao:
