Mathieu Debuchy

Debuchy was very good against Chelsea, Spurs, Swansea, Southampton.

Was s**** against Liverpool and decent against most others.

Overreaction due to the hype surrounding him.

He can do a LOT better but he's been nowhere near as bad as some make out.

Well said, he's had half a season in the prem league. It often takes players a full season to find their feet.

As was Simpson, Debuchy has a much higher ceiling though.

To be honest I cannot think of any recent signings other than Obertan and Amalfitano who have been worse than Debuchy.

His appalling errors including a one man horror show in the first half against QPR almost got us relegated. It was a good thing Bosingwa was even worse on the day.

He can still turn it round though.

You mean conceding a penalty that wasn't a penalty? Hardly a 'horror show' imo. He also played rather well in the second half of that game.

Aye a solid pre season for him and knows now how tough the league is. Just needs to be a little less rash, his aggressiveness could be useful if used correctly.

Not getting purposefully sent off because he's in a bad mood would be a start.

 he did that one time!

And it's all some people remember for some sad reason.

What?

Danny "heart of a pea" Simpson got that reputation for less!

I don't even mind him. Just thought that was a bit of a cop out move especially when we weren't near safe.

One thing that is safe though is to say he's not been the saviour he was repeatedly built up to be though, unsurprisingly.

Sounds like he's having one of his better games

Can't imagine seeing him here this time next season, will be looking for a move in January with his mate gone.

He's shown the sum total of fuck all so far anyway. An absolute liability when defending in the box.

Yes the defending of his ability on here has so far been better than what he's been able to produce.  by some fucking distance as well.

Looks a total lemon, but time will tell.
