I wonder how much Ferguson will want to dwell on that incident?

It's a blatant red. He's even already on a yellow.

'It's an unfortunate accident. These things happen in football. I thought Evans could have been killed by that own goal though.'

Can't believe he didn't get a yellow, shocking decision. Really hope it isn't as bad as it first looked, he's been our star performer for the past few weeks now.

One thing for sure, we´re f***ed without him. We have no other player filling his shoes during his recovery. His intensity, passing, vision, workrate are absolutley phenomenal.

Tragically, I think that the most likely scenario is a fractured or broken tibia.

See here for some miserable viewing and reading: http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=A00522

Executive summary - he could be out for 4 to 6 months.

On the other hand, he could have done a toenail, and be back for the Arse.

Really, it looked like he went over on his ankle rather than broke his leg.

Either way i'm hoping for the best.

Of course I desperately hope to be proven wrong here, but I thought the ankle twist was the result of Valencia's studs making contact with Anita's tibia. A definite yellow as I saw it.

I thought it was a red thb, Valencia was nowhere near the ball and had his studs showing off the ground. I suppose it could be about angles but looked red to me.

Tibia? Ankle? Knee? Any other bidders?

We'll just have to wait and see, and hope that the final diagnosis is "only" a bad dream, instead of the absolute nightmare it could turn out to be :(

Hoping for bruising and fit for the weekend ;)

Perhaps a borderline yellow / red? That is, yellow if the foul was committed by one of our players, and red if it was by one of their's ;)
