Hopefully this was a good start to a lengthy spell in the starting line up. Such a tidy and uncomplicated little player. Exactly what we need in midfield. Play him in a 3 with Sissoko and an advanced Cabaye would have been the way forward this season.

Cabaye's no advanced midfielder.

I prefer Marveaux there, but seeing as Cabaye is (was) one of our purples, playing him in the advanced role would have made a lot more sense than playing him deep with Tiote and Sissoko ahead of them.

We need an attacking midfielder whether Cabaye goes or not.... Marveaux is clearly not trusted and none of the others can do it properly.

I'm happy with Anita and Sissoko but there needs to a proper 10 in front of them, even more important than signing a striker in my eyes.

I agree lads Cabaye will be flogged and replaced in January...

It leaves us at the mercy of:

Pardew's shit team selections and injuries.

Personally i don't rate Gosling or Bigi I can see Jonas being reinvented as a central midfielder once Cabaye goes.

I think if we played it like this today we would have won.

                    Sissoko    Anita

    HBA                Marveaux          Sammy

                            Gouffran

A very tidy player yes, but never stands out IMO, always seems to tick over nicely without really creating or having a massive influence on the match.

That was his role at Ajax, To cover the space left behind by attacking forwards/Midfielders and to recycle possession.
