Tiote always wants the ball, the other two do not. Whenever he's played alongside either of them (sigh) he tends to make close to twice as many passes. He also attempts to play the situation in the game. If we are down, he's going for that forward pass and it's going to be ugly.

He doesn't lose the ball as a % of his passes anymroe than the other two. But he makes a lot more passes so the increase in poor passes looks worse.

Basically. He's not a "nothing" player. But he'll play terribly very loudly.

Anita's entire game is looking for the ball, are you fucking high?

He's good at almost nothing else but wanting the ball, taking the ball and moving it on without losing it.

Energy and desire  That Tiote hasn't been seen in like 4 years, almost want him to play again so people can have their memory refreshed.

I don't need my memory refreshed, I didn't accept he was as bad as was made out last year either, and that's despite playing alongside either Colback or Anita. I'd like to see him  being the only defensive midfielder for a change. At least he has a defined role unlike Colback and some physical presence unlike Anita. It's between Anita and Tiote for the defensive role for me, Colback is too slow.

If that's the case - why doesn't he lead the team in pass attempts per 90 minutes? why does he make less passes per 90 minutes than Tiote? In fact, it's remarkably similar to serial hide and seek competitor Colback.

And he's just going to pass to Colo & Mbemba in any case.

You're the only person on this forum who thinks that stats alone prove a fucking thing. This shite you've just posted, how many forward passes does tiote complete? How many chances does he create? What does he do in the opposition box with the ball?

I know the answer, those numbers mean nothing, he's as bad at the things you criticise Anita and Colback for, worse probably.

Your first line is incorrect. My eyes show me Anita does nothing and the stats back it up. The stats aren't just numbers - you can see where he's passing and who too.

He doesn't influence the game. If he did, the stats would reflect it. They don't because he doesn't.

And the stuff there's no stats for like.. tracking your man. He's shit at that too.

Anita did okay yesterday, not great, but he did fine. The reason so many of his passes went straight back to one of the centre half is because the man who is supposed to receive it from him were hiding all fucking game. Anita actually did make some good tackles and forward passes as well. He was certainly not the problem last night.

One of the most ridiculous posts I've read on here and that's no mean feat! Nowt wrong with Anita, it's everyone else's fault he's been absolutely sh*t since he signed for us

Should probably read one of your own posts then. It's obvious as fuck that his job yesterday was to receive the ball from the defence and start the play from there. If you look at his movement when he's not on the ball, he's constantly showing for it, who else did that yesterday? That's right, absolutely no one. Suppose it's easier though to just look at him being close to West Ham players when they scored and say that he didn't win the tackles and therefore he was shite instead of actually watching us play.

Going to repeat this again, I'm not saying he was great yesterday, but he did the basics of what he was supposed to do. The one that didn't was Colback, who I assume is the one who should be ahead of Anita and pick the ball up from him but was nowhere to be seen except for when he got his daft yellow and when he was jogging back for their second goal.

You're wasting your time man, these guys are wondering why a defensive midfielder playing in front of the back four didn't make any forward passes into the opposition penalty area. He did actually win a few good challenges and ping the ball forward in the first half before it all went to shit. Whether he's good enough is a different matter, but I'd be asking that question about a few others before him at this point.

Forget last night. He's done nowt since we signed him over 3 years ago, West Ham last season and a canny performance v Southampton this season apart.

He was absolute shite last night, there's no point coming between the centre halves to receive the ball if all you're going to do is give it straight back to them. He's scared to dribble out with the ball because either he can't or fears getting bullied off it. Then when people do break past him, he doesn't even try and stick a foot in as he knows he will likely get bullied again. He plays scared.

On that I will agree with you, if you want a defensive midfielder who can dribble out with the ball, then he's not really your man. I'm not sure who is though, I can't recall the last holding midfielder we had who actually did that. Probably one of the reasons why we kept trying to sign Michael Carrick before he eventually went to Man U.
