This crowd for an inner city derby is a complete joke.

Getafe consistently average the poorest crowds in La Liga. Most of their "fans" are bored Real Madrid fans that want to see football the weekends Real Madrid play away.

It's a bit of a pity, since they are excellently well run and have been punching above their weight for years.

Our commentators are blaming high ticket prices for the amount of empty seats there tonight.

Most clubs always ratchet up the prices when Barça or Madrid come round, but over here they are reporting a 8000 crowd, which is exactly the number of STs they sold this season...

Not surprising that attendances are down in Spain considering the economic mess happening.  Noticed your Clasico had a few tickets spare going into kick off last week.

Yeah, but the Supercopa is outside the ST, so it's not that surprising that a couple thousand tickets went unsold. Particularly in August when a lot of people is still on holiday.

But yeah, attendances have been way down these past two years.

so la liga is over already?

Nah, Madrid started pretty average last year and got incredibly strong in last 6 months.  I still have doubts over Barca's away record.

Considering its no more than 15 mile from Madrid that is quite a damming sign of football fans in Spain...
