Interpolic
Yeah but the manager shouldn't be doing it. His senior players have been mostly shit aswell this year which is down to him. Absolutely. Those quotes are fucking desperate man, really worrying.
Dave
Inadvertantly explained exactly why Debuchy should have been in during the summer there btw. We've fucked about with Simpson losing us points and now need to hope Debuchy picks it up as quickly as possible in the middle of a relegation scrap with the rest of the side low on confidence. What a gonk.
Greg
Reaction to this is funny as a lot on here are constantly slagging off the likes of Sammy Ameobi et al. He appears to blame them for our current situation instead of looking at what he could have done better which is slightly different to somebody on here slagging them off. I'm not necessarily sure that's the case, he's obviously not very happy with the attitudes of one or two of them and is using this as means of trying to get that message across. matta
I personally just think most of them are a shower of nothing. Sammy's attitude is wrong, the rest mostly seem OK in terms of effort when they've had chances. I agree. None ,except Vuckic, right now REALLY excite me when they come on. Still have hopes for Campbell.
SiLvOR
He's like the Mouth of Sauron, we need an Aragorn to chop his head off to stop the constant stream of shit.
Belfast Mags
Surely he's trying to put a marker down that big improvements are required and nobody's "safe".

Newcastle United's manager has been questioning himself and his methods and now acknowledges he has possibly placed too much faith in the club's youngsters. Mick
Surely he's trying to put a marker down that big improvements are required and nobody's "safe". Why isn't he telling that to the first team players who have let him down, rather than a bunch of kids?
Stuy_O
Talking a seriously good game now is Pardew, wants to hope of even a semblance of a performance on saturday.
colinmk
Young players with pretty much no first team experience thrown in to a struggling team with no real identity don't perform well. Well fuck me, I'd never have thought that would happen. How dare these cunts not perform miracles, what a load of fucking shite. The 5 mentioned (espec. Abeid since he's been nowhere near the first team most of the time anyway), maybe aside from Amalfitano since he isn't 'young' shouldn't have been at the club anyway, all should be cutting their teeth in the Championship ironing out their mistakes so they don't make them so often playing for us. It isn't just Pardew either, I can't remember our development of youth ever being anything other than hoy them in, do you sink or swim? Exactly. You don't see other teams throwing in all their youngsters and saying perform or get out. Whatever happened to 'nurturing' talent ffs? The guy is a clown. LFEE
Nowt wrong with AP's comments... Up to the players to prove him wrong... Just don't think the majority of them have it in them...

"We've got 17 league games and at least two in the Europa League to go and I'll need a lot of questions answered about what I think is under the first team here. At the moment, what's been underneath hasn't produced as I hoped it would."

Dave
Anyway even if he has issues with the effort put in by the kids and is merely attempting to kick them up the arse publically, his issue wants to be with the club's ludicrous 11 purple players policy which basically means that being unfortunate with injuries/suspensions turns these novices into vital squad members instead of being out on loan learning their trade. It's the same with the Ameobi Cup of Nations thing, denying such a limited player his only shot at a major international tournament because there's a real chance he'll end January as our second choice striker. You couldn't make it up.
Beren
The quotes are symptomatic of him having exhausted his full bag of tricks. It was a small bag to begin with, tbf. Without a full-strength eleven doing their thing his only recourse is to complain he doesn't have a full-strength eleven. He can't adapt/coach/teach/lead. ponsaelius
The quotes are basically an attempt to cover his own back (performances) and also the board's for not improving the squad (suggesting they assumed could rely on the youngsters). Pretty cowardly stuff on the whole.
