My p*ss was boiling when they took the ball off HBA, was a shocjing dicision. Good tthree points though and glimpses that we are getting back to our best.

HBA gave it to him.

After being talked into in by Jonas and Ba. He didnt want to give it to him.

Didn´t Ben Arfa give the  ball to Cisse? Seemed like something the players decided on between themselves. Shows good team spirit, and would have been applauded in the same way it is now criticized had Cisse scored.

This forum has ignoring the middle ground, so I won't call that diabolical but I would say it has notched up my worry about our long-term prospects. I said before the match that the result was more important than the performance, so I'm very grateful for the three points.

Going back to the bigger picture though, today adds credence to the view that we're a really poor team. We have incredible individuals who help us tick along and pick up points, but Pardew's coaching skills look especially shite atm.

Look at the fitness levels and hunger of sides like Everton and Swansea, look at the determination and competitive performances managers like Clarke and Hughton can eke out of limited resources... then you look what Pardew has to work with, and how negative and unattractive our football is (individual glittering performances such as HBA's notwithstanding)... it's depressing. I understand things take time, but there's barely any signs of improvement IMO. The lack of fluidity, players moving for each other, the organisation off the ball, the lack of defined roles for something as rudimentary penalty-taking.. it's infuriating.

Bringing on Obertan on, man. Why? Defending a lead after 60 minutes at home against Norwich - has he blocked out the Wolves game from his memory? Very frustrated, but I understand that while the cracks continued to be papered over the team will be be unjustifiably defended. I look forward to watching individuals on matchday, not the team. We're as poor to watch at the Mackems, but for the fact we have more flamboyant and deadly forwards.

Really disappointed. And I'm prepared to take it in the neck off the more sanguine of you on here  (Cajun, I'm looking at you dude )

Pretty much bang on post that. Results are everything at the moment though, and I think once Tiote is back in gear it might make a difference to the team. Anita looks technically fine, but he looks like he might be more suited to playing in a continental league than the premier as a defensive midfielder. I agree that I can't really see any cohesion in the game plan, I've got a feeling we might end up stumbling on our best 11 rather than shaping it ourselves.

Tbf didn't really think williamson had that a good game. He was okay when the ball came in the air, but apart from that he was all over the place. There was no communication between Williamson and Anita on their 1v1 situation, one of them should have been covering that opportunity.

He was like a statue at times and they ran around him as if he wasn't capable of moving.

:notbad:

Agree. Pardew is way too cautious. Needs to find a balance in the team.

I can only imagine Marv was dropped because of his appalling showings this season.

You mean 45 mins in his last premier game? He looked pretty good in the game he started in Europe. Maybe there's a problem with his attitude behind the scenes. I don't think he lacks talent that's for sure.

Ben Arfa picked up the ball and was going to take it. The captain had a word with him, and he gave the ball to Cisse. Didn't look arranged at all.

Agree with the latter part of your post though.

Oh dear... we are performing just like we did last season. We really are a poor footballing side and given the players we have, should be playing much better.

Especially after what happened in the Mackem game earlier this year, the penalty should be taken by the nominated penalty taker every time.

Otherwise we might as well be inviting Williamson up to take one.

We played fine in the first half to be fair, second half wasnt so good. But sitting with 8 points after a pretty tough start without playiing well is a good enough start.

The first 15 minutes weren't too good, the first half changed when Anita went on to the right.
