Newcastle United are on the verge of securing a loan deal for Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy, a source close to the player has told ESPN FC.

Bernard, who spent six seasons with Newcastle, told the Evening Chronicle.

Source close to the player = player told local newspaper + which I read = source close to the player told ESPN FC

deal that's nearing possible completion? Kinnear will be on the case to sabotage that, can't have a silly thing like signing players to help the guy who has the job you actually want

He'll turn up with Pro Evo instead, what a dick.

Knowing our luck, we'll finalise the transfer/loan and he'll get banged up for the bang up.

He hasn't been charged yet i dont think, if and when he is, it would be quite a while before a trial.

Fernandes also seemed to want to lend some players out with a view to retrieving them when they won promotion.

I'm sure the rest of their squad will be thrilled about that.

The rest of the squad would probably be sold anyway if they won promotion, or at least the ones who would whinge about him coming back, because more than likely they'd be the weaker squad members.

Also don't players often whinge about lack of ambition when clubs don't invest in the squad (okay, just us) so it would make sense they would want the better players back surely?

Depends what assurances they've been given though, they could have all been told we only have xx amount to spend for example.  It's when players are lied to by managers etc is when they get very unhappy.
