He'll come for the wages but he has no interest in playing for us. Another player linked with us in the past who might just be allowed to leave is Shane Long, be about a 3rd the price of most other strikers, pace to burn and knows where the goal is. He'll have left Tenerife for two reasons, move to a bigger league and increased wages. Point is he had various choices to fulfill both those aims. Only other team i remember being mentioned was Porto and i wouldn't be surprised if we offered more considering PL wages in general is higher than even teams like Porto usually pay. Still might not even be right, just the only possibility I could think of, which in of itself is quite damning. He's always sounded really proud to be here like, though I don't doubt that would change if one of the really top clubs wanted him. Don't forget we effectively signed him for the reserves to start with (there were direct comments from someone at the club about him being intended for the 'development squad' IIRC) so it's probably no surprise he's as pleased as punch to be a first team regular already.
