First on MOTD again.

 This is extremely irrelevant for me tonight. Can't remember the last time I watched it tbh, and I'll probably pretend football doesn't exist until maybe Tuesday. Ffs, fml etc. Although resilience is one thing we eventually get good at after all this twatting practice. Gimme until the morning and I'll be yelling at the TV again in all likelihood. Ah, shit, we signed up for this and we fucking knew it, went in with eyes wide open. I want all of you guys to make oor wee village proud come Wednesday, come on!

Aye, I'll maybe have another. :Jonny2J:

"I felt that for 70 minutes we were more than a match (for Arsenal) and at 3-3 it was about closing out the game," the boss told nufcTV following the final whistle.

"We just couldn't do it. We just didn't have enough legs on the pitch.

"The scoreline certainly flatters them, but the rest they had in the week was always going to tell at some point, and in that last 20 minutes we just ran out of energy.

"We did terrific for 65-70 minutes. We are still conceding soft goals and we know we have to improve in that area, but the end left a sour taste.

"We got ourselves in two great positions to get something out of the game, and at 2-2 I was just desperate to make us tighter. But we couldn't get tight for whatever reason, and that is something we have to sort out.

"I can't get away from the scoreline - it doesn't reflect well on us."

Honestly can't argue with any of that, we all moaned about Arsenal getting off their game before the game so we expected us to tire (especially after the tough game at Man Utd) which obviously played a part as we definitely tired.

The subs didn't help but I didn't mind them at the time because it seemed like we were trying to go for it so I can't slag him off now that it backfired.

Can you blame him after the last 2 games?

I would be more worried if he didn't acknowledge defensive failures. We have scored 6 and conceded 11 in the last 2 games. Where do you think we have struggled?

I'm veering on the side of cutting Pardew some slack at the minute, not least because he's playing the system I want to see played and he's actually down to the bare bones now, not like earlier in the year when he was playing the victim at having 2 players out.

However quotes like that above scream of having excuses readily prepared and sending the players in with a negative attitude.

I've just found it on youtube.

Oh god, no

No way am I going to watch it, at least not tonight.

can you remember the 7-2 man utd? when it was.?

League Cup 4th Round 27 October 1976. They hadn't invented TV in those days so I wasn't too traumatised until the next day. Micky Burns and Irving Nattrass for us. Some shitebags for them. Think Gordon Hill might have got three but I'm not going in the attic in this state to confirm it. Fuck the internet, I've got a book!
