Apparently INGURRRLURRRND are getting a new kit for the World Cup, despite only just getting that Nike one?

 

Assumed everyone gets new kits for World Cup, companies don't care about consumers - only new products = more sales. :-/

 

Hopefully it wont look exactly like my USA Centenary kit. Although, I'm just not sure what differences one can make when white and blue are the main colors of the home kit and they have to be 1 color.

 

I'm hoping, at the very least, that we keep the centennial patch. It's miles better than that crap US SOCCER patch with the ball-in-motion business.

 

And yes please to getting a collar.

I can't stand this solid colour business. It's so needless that it's actually bizarre. Have they even come out with a reason? Even if they have, you can't say "yeah, that's bullshit, it's just a corporate thing", cos I literally can't think of any reason for why it might make Adidas, etc, more money.

In Brazil, Germany will play a FIFA World Cup for the first-time in an all-white kit. The outfit comprises the squad's traditional white jersey combined with white shorts.

 

"The white shorts symbolise the ease of play of the German game. It is a statement of class, elegance and love of the game," said Jürgen Rank, Chief Designer for football apparel at adidas.

The sponsor with the most on the line is unquestionably adidas, which sold 1.2 million El Tri jerseys in 2010, more than any of its other teams including the eventual champion, Spain.

 

"Mexico is our prize possession," said Ernesto Bruce, head of soccer for adidas North America.

 

Last World Cup, adidas said it sold as many Mexico jerseys in the U.S. as its competitor Nike sold U.S. jerseys. That's one of the reasons why the brand launched the Mexico team kit last month, to showcase the 2014 outfit during qualifying rounds. That also means that adidas has already reached a point of no return with Mexico should they not qualify.

 

Intredasting. Nee wonder Mexico gets a customised kit.

When Portugal played DPR Korea last WC, they had to change their shorts and socks to avoid a clash.

So, what's this s*** about a single color? Why the f*** are Spain wearing Bayern Munich kits?

 

I think it's adidas, but someone on here saying it's FIFA while other teams still have two coloured kits. So yeah, no one knows, but yours is horrendous.

I looked through the relevant FIFA WC 2014 regulations the other day and found nothing suggesting same-colour shorts/socks. Well, according to my interpretations.

 

2. Each team shall inform FIFA of two different and contrasting colours (one predominately dark and one predominately light kit) for its official and reserve team kit (shirt, shorts and socks). In addition, each team shall select three contrasting colours for the goalkeepers. This information shall be sent to FIFA on the team colour form. Only these colours may be worn at the matches.

 

5. FIFA will inform the teams of the colours that they shall wear for each match. As far as possible, each team shall wear its official colours as declared on the official team colour form. If the two teams’ colours and the match officials’ colour might cause confusion, in principle, team A in the official match schedule shall be entitled to wear its official team kit and team B shall use its reserve team kit or, if necessary, both teams may have to wear a combination of their official and reserve team kits. FIFA will endeavour to ensure that each team wears its official team kit at least once during the group stage.

 

Still don't see why they can't have their traditional shorts colour and switch over to their alternate shorts if it clashes with the opposition's e.g. Portugal v North Korea above.

Confederations Cup - Mexico v Italy. Mexico's original shorts were white.

Another example of predominantly dark vs predominantly light kit I guess. Colombia's yellow/white will be light yet Mexico's green/white still runs foul if the rule is interpreted as such. And Spain in traditional red/blue will clearly show up as a dark kit in monochrome. :dontknow:
