Just got to hope he starts tomorrow and plays well then someone is daft enough to part with £25m for this cowardly fraud. He'll be no use to us whatsoever in the Championship given how he could even motivate himself to play premier league football for us.

He was our best player with Townsend as soon as Rafa give him the captaincy. Still wouldn't be against him leaving if Rafa gets the money to reinvest.

Would be a massive statement from the club if we kept him and gave him the armband like. I know people don't like him, but I saw something in the run-in under Benitez that makes me believe we'd get the best out of him now. Not going to happen though.

He wants away. He sees himself as better than us, and that was when we were a PL team. He's barely tried a leg in his time here, save for some of the televised games against the top teams, ie the teams he thinks he should be turning out for. Even Rafa won't be able to get much out of him against championship teams. It's just not where he sees himself. He's deluded in thinking he should be in the Champions league year in year out.

Given the crazy prices going around now our best bet is to hope some club is daft enough to give us £25m for him and let Rafa invest that into his own signings.

Tried to hit the ball around Kimmich (if that's the name of the LB) and beat him for pace and f***ed that up a few times

Hope he starts in the final and plays well and they win it now. If anything it'll only inflate his value some more, or, we get a happy Moussa - who may get a word from Rafa saying - look, you made the team and started from being at a club that was relegated, play even better and you'll feature even more.

And If Rafa wants to flog him for 25M that would be great too.

Tbh there's no way he's staying, if anything this is going to cement further in his ostrich brain that he should be starting for a CL club.

Has he ever said he should be starting for a CL club?

not in those terms but he's mentioned his champions league "dream" quite happily to french media on a semi regular basis so not hard to join the dots

Which player turning out for France in the semi finals of the Euros wouldn't have a CL "dream"? We've had a British lad who was sat on Spurs bench for two years jump ship to a rowing boat steered by alan pardew just to put things in perspective.

Fuck me, are you genuinely defending a player for getting his agent to insist he's wanting away every other day in the press.

Fair enough if you think we're a better team with a motivated Sissoko in it, we all think that. To defend him for being an absolute wanker though.

I still find it surprising that people think he played well since Rafa came in. His quality was mostly poor and he was much less effective on the left. The only difference was that he worked much harder which shouldn't be enough to be deemed one of our best players during that spell.

His play under Rafa was most like we have been seeing for France tbh. He tries hard, looks a threat but actually isn't  and his final ball is shit.

Still a step up from before where he didn't even try but yeah, his final ball is always going to prevent him from where he thinks he can be.

He was way more productive going forward before Rafa came in IMO. When he tries too hard he begins falling over himself loads and shit like that. I think he was always pretty good defensively when playing right wing. We expected too much from him going forward IMO

Eh??? We signed him as an attacking midfielder! The stats (not to mention his performances) suggest we had every right to expect more, especially given how good him and his agent keep telling everyone he is.

If we did then we are more stupid than i thought considering he was a CM for Toulouse who had a very poor goalscoring record.

He played in an advanced attacking midfield position from the start and in his defence looked excellent at it (v Villa and Chelsea) before things started going downhill.

He's generally atrocious defensively. He can be an effective attacking force when he wants to be.

Did he play as an attacking midfielder for Toulouse? His best attributes are his strength and speed. He is horribly one dimensional going forward. He's playing as basically a defensive winger and a player who gives them width for France and in that limited role he looks good. He's not going to look good when the entire attacking gameplan revolves around him as he's too one dimensional as I said. Having said that he still created more chances than anyone else in our team for basically all his time here

His decision making when it comes to making the final pass prevents that from happening IMO, too many times he looks dangerous and then when it comes to making the right decision in and around the box it goes to the opposition.
