Benwell Lad
I must say, I am getting lots of enjoyment at how bad Wigan are coming out of all this. Serves the shit little club right. Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan defended midfielder McManaman following the tackle by claiming he won the ball as “clean as a whistle”.
Guest reefatoon
What the hell is wrong with that Just because I have empathy . Just find it funny that you have posted 3 times about wanting to cry/in tears/all emotional about it. If you stand back and look at why you are crying. A man kicked another man in the knee and bruised it. Bless your cottons you delicate little flower.
Benwell Lad
While the dabate over the FA's lack of action and refereeing incompetence continues, I'm actually surprised there is any debate regarding the tackle itself. He went out to do Haidara, he succeeded in doing him good and proper, and that's about all there is to say.

Also Haidara is a lucky boy that Mcmanaman is about 4 stone wet through. Any other bloke built bigger and stronger would have took his leg off. Just shows what a little pussy Mcmanaman is. Soft as shit.
Benwell Lad
Another quite sobering fact from this is that left back is a position we've had a problem with for a while and certainly no real cover. Carr, Pardew, Dekka and Ashley went about rectifying that and in Haidara most of us have seen a great player with potential to go on and achieve big things. One moment of unpunished thuggery may have taken that away and put us back to square one and ended a very promising career. Let's hope not but the more I see that tackle the more I fear for him. Mole_Toonfan
If that is true then its fantastic news and he's a very lucky boy.
Guest Roger Kint
Pardew should have taken more of a stance over this and stood up for his club and his player. We've taken this lying down. Has it really took 125 pages to find some reason to attack him?
alexf
Every time the FA wheel one of their mouthpieces out it makes me sick. They just ramble on about the "process" and "agreement". The whole time I'm just hearing a load of crap empty excuses that they are hiding behind. If they had wanted to punish him then they would have quite easily. Plus absolutely no one would have kicked off about rule e3 blah blah the sacred "process" etc and would have just accepted it and moved on. The whole thing is an absolute joke and there is more to it than the shit they have tried to justify so far.

alexf
Fucking Taylor from PFA was making good points about this case should have been reviewed (in a round about way) but then when asked if he should have been punished in his opinion he dodges the fucking question. What is wrong with these people. Oh and the constant "He's inexperienced, new to the league, young" etc. What about our lad? Younger, yet to start in the premier league, new to the country and has just been savagely taken out and his attacker has completely got away with it. Pilko
What does it say to Haidara when he comes over here to play his football, and our FA are more concerned with ensuring their officials don't get butthurt than they are for his own physical welfare and safety on the pitch? Putting all the other bullshit aside, (which personally i'm trying to do, as it'll wind me up far too much otherwise), it's the young lads well being that really matters. madras
As soon as he wasn't sent off any restrospective action taken again the scumbag mean't actually nothing to NUFC. Who seriously gives a f*** if he got a three match ban - how does that help NUFC? It doesn't. We need to focus anger on the match officials. They f***ed up. They should be punished but yet again it now means nothing to NUFC. Even if Halsey is relegated to doing s*** 2nd division match's for a month or two - SO f***. The moment passed when he wasn't sent off. you're right that as he wasn't sent off then we would get nothing from it, however I wasn't aware that the club that was transgressed against had to get something from it but some sort of sanction HAS to be set to stop it happening, personally I've always been in favour of longer bans for violent play, 3 games being neither here nor there compared to possible broken leg or long term injury

bulivye
this Matthew Wilkes SOB should never work a football match again! i don't care if he was instructed to only call throw-ins, etc by the ref--- the "i was just following orders" line has a dark history.
