Shak
A young, promising left back makes sense tbh. Debuchy and Santon is a nice starting pair but after them we have nothing. If either of them get injured having someone who isn't Danny Simpson or Ryan Taylor to step in would be handy. The fact that Santon can play both sides means that this chap would essentially be backup for two spots. Obviously this is pretty fucking low on the list of priorities though, and it probably just means Santon will be off soon.
NEEJ
Almost amusing that we look like we're trying to build a squad amidst impending doom.
Willow
Seems a canny player going off that youtube video, seems strong and direct. Will be a good squad addition at 20 years old, low fee which is good. Promising, even though we know a striker and a CB come first. As said by Pardew though, we're working on a few deals, so fingers crossed they come off. Though from recent quotes he prefers Italy to England, we shall see.. thorin
Are we buying players just because they actually accept our offers? Because it sure seems like it, so friggin useless. WE DO NOT NEED ANOTHER WINGBACK, WHY IS IT EVEN BEING DISCUSSED AND BID FOR?!!! GEEZ so fucking dumb.
Mike
At what point are we required to switch to Ligue 1?

toontownman
We are hoping no Italian clubs are interested and make a bid. Then maybe we can convince him to come here instead of Italy where his heart is set on moving.
QBG
One of the best young players in the France, has excelled in a god awful Nancy team and for the price being touted he would be an excellent signing. Still has a lot of developing to do, but has the physicality and pace to adapt well to the English game. Not sure how we would fit him in to the starting XI but that shouldn't stop us from getting him in.

Tbh i didn't even consider that, also considering the fact Santon can play both sides pretty much means we have 2 offensive minded fullbacks for both full back positions. It is something that needs to be looked at, but a CB and a forward HAS to be bought in on top of it.
toontownman
Ok, am I giggsing myself here? Did Haidara not already rule us out in favor of a move to Italy? Why are we still talking about this if so?
Mole_Toonfan
Ok, am I giggsing myself here? Did Haidara not already rule us out in favor of a move to Italy? Why are we still talking about this if so? He didn't rule anything out, he just said he would prefer Italy to England at least supposedly anyway. Wouldn't surprise me if the quotes were fake like the ones about Remy wanting to go to Germany were especially considering the links came from Italy. None the less he didn't rule anything out and players say a lot of things during the window to take it too seriously IMO.
Deuce
If we sign this lad then guess that means we won't be using Fergie at LB anymore? Guess we see Shane more as a LW then... Send him on loan to play LW in the championship. It would do him the world of good. Actually I'd be very much for this. He's never gone out on loan has he? Nope he hasn't. A good run of first team football will help him develop imo. Definitely agree with you there. Shane, Sammy, Abeid need to go out on loan but our s*** squad depth means we can't really afford to. Annoying. Yep. We've got a few young players who'd do well getting regular playing time on loan. Bigi, Ferguson, Sammy, Amalfitano, Abeid, etc. Unfortunately, they're all first-off-the-bench for the most part.
toontownman
Looks like a sensible move if we can get him. I don't rate anyone else at this club at LB other than Santon.
aussiemag
I think Rwylor is decent short term cover.
Jesse Pinkman
I've read multiple times that if a player comes along thats excellent value, Ashley will jump in and buy them regardless of whether the player fits the area in the squad that needs strengthened, think thats the case here. Its probably more of an investment buy, who will provide competition for places and in the future provide a big profit (thats if he comes of course, by the sounds of its far from done). Plus to be honest they need to buy atleast 2 players now , after the whole Remy incident just to give the club in general a boost and save some face! Taylor Swift
Getting him would solve two problems, cover at LB and RB. If Santon gets injured, he plays LB. If Debuchy gets injured, this kid plays LB and Santon switches over. If the transfer window hasn't been so shitty, this would feel like a very smart signing. Smal
I'd actually have left back cover as our third priority behind a centre half and a forward, so I can't see any issues with it supposedly 'not being what we need'. Especially if it's only going to set us back a couple of million.
