That is sort of my gut feeling here. Although I expected some clubs who have coveted him prior to him joining us valuing him higher as they know what he's capable of from leadership, Ligue 1 experience, and potential. Always assumed Montpellier would hold Cabella over us in attempt to get Mapou back - or - Rene Girard would bring him over to Lille and build the defense around him. Now his school friend cabella is here it should give him more incentive to want to stay. Currently though he really does need to step up and take Colo's place off him. I know and get he may not be a brilliant player or something, but his physicality, height and aerial presence are exactly what we needed and yet the drunk senile cunt canceled that deal. Idiotic. Willo's shouting and organizing + Mapou's pace was quite excellent. Felt we'd get caught out less with those 2 as Mapou had recovery speed that Colo never had. Because the King hadn't really heard of him he simply wouldn't trust him, weirdly he continued to trust players who performed appallingly but that was ok.....weird stuff. Ronaldo Posted July 14, 2014 Share Posted July 14, 2014 I think one of the reasons the club are so reluctant to spent money on matured players is the fact we bought Coloccini at 26/27 and nobody has ever offered money for him, even when he was playing well.
