sempuki
Just Twitter talk - no quotes or anything. Still looks like we are in pole position if he is daft enough to come.

Guest ItalianMagpie
For some reason, I don't give a flying f*** about this. Maybe because he won't certainly sort it out for us, and he's just another player we're gonna lose in the summer after relegation. Our situation is so bad that feels like whoever comes in there's no chance for us to sort this mess out. Now we got Cabaye back, Debuchy in for Simpson, Marv finally fit and running, Cissè back in the middle: result, draw at Norwich and defeat at home to Reading. Ffs. Yeah, we should give up. Lets unregister our accounts at 23:00, ok? You and me at the exact same time. Always a start. Saying that we're going down and that a feeling of helplessness is in the air is not equal to saying I'm giving up, nor that anybody should. But thank you for the invitation to fuck off, appreciate it.
Varadi
Newcastle are close to completing the £6.8million signing for Montpellier defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa. The Magpies have beaten off competition from Arsenal for the talented 23-year-old. He will fly into Newcastle on Monday to complete the deal. St James’ Park sources say a fee has been agreed and Newcastle don’t expect there to be any last-minute hitches like the one that wrecked the Loic Remy deal. French sources say Newcastle will pay their new defender £3m-a-year for what is likely to be a five-and-a-half season deal. He will join a growing colony of Tyneside-based French internationals with recent signing Mathieu Debuchy, Yohan Cabaye and Hatem Ben Arfa already at St. James’ Park. The versatile Yanga-Mbiwa, 23, can play in central defence or at right-back and has won three caps for France. He played as a defensive midfielder against Arsenal in the Champions League earlier this season – and helped Montpellier to the title last season. And his arrival will ease some of the pressure on manager Alan Pardew on the eve of crucial talks aimed at keeping want-away skipper and centre- back Fabricio Coloccini on Tyneside. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-are-close-to-completing-68m-deal-1545207? bowlingcrofty
Need this deal and a forward player tied up by the Villa game. If Shola starts again i'll cry.

Gallowgate Toon
One of his other great assets is that he's a very good leader, he's the type of player you want in the position we're in, we don't have enough right now. Really hope we get this through, still nowhere confident though.
Ikon
Only posting this to warn you, let's not start counting our chickens after what we've just been through. Tooj
Still not getting excited about this at all. Nothing to do with his undoubted quality but we've saw how bad Llambias and Charney can be at getting deals over the line when we need them to happen. Dave
Just on the question of this being Colo's replacement, I'm a bit suspicious of him supposedly being on £60k per week.
