Was it just the move to Chelsea that took all the confidence out of him or was it injuries? He was s**** in his last season at Liverpool as well. For me he's lost a little pace and a load of acceleration. He scored more goals in his last 6 months at Liverpool than in the next 18 at Chelsea, IIRC. His knee injuries hurt him a lot, losing pace and power which he based a lot of his game around. But there's a big deal of confidence issues there; he reminds me a lot of Atlético Torres, when there was this huge hype around him and he would snap at chances time after time. It isn't a "blip" he's going through, I just genuinely think he's a poor striker for the level he's playing at. However, it doesn't help when ever he misses a chance the commentator will say "Urgh!!
