The other games today - 2012/13

I'm not sure that Everton have better players individually than we do, but they are so far ahead in the way they play and compete, that Pardew should be ashamed. Mind you we know he's shameless or he would have resigned after the mackem shambles on Sunday.

Many of Everton's best players seem to have been there a long time now, which along with the manager surely has to be a factor in how they are consistently in the top eight. How do they manage this when any of our players only have to play well for a few weeks before they're being touted all over the place?

Distin is everything that Colo isn't, he's fast, strong and good in the air, and thats plenty enough for a CH.

Without checking, there can't be many outfield overseas players who've played more games in our top flight.

Everton there, passing and movement, keeping the ball, cross to 4 players in the box.

Everything we can't do.

They've still sold players. Lescott, Arteta, Rodwell, Rooney for big cash off the top of my head.

They lost Pienaar too but he bombed and came back.

They lost Lescott, Arteta, Rodwell, Pienaar (for a time) and Saha in recent years and Fellaini and Baines are touted all the time.

To be fair, they've managed to get some massive fees from the likes of Rooney, but more recently Lescott, Arteta and Rodwell.

Still, consistent quality in the side for a number of years is paying dividends. What we have to aim for I guess.
