No point in even pretending like we had a chance. Agree with this, we never had a chance. I got myself wrapped up the past week or two in all the speculation and thought we had a chance then the realisation came back as soon as I heard BVB. He knew that Dortmund were watching him at the back end of last year, and many others I'd imagine too. On top of that, he was pretty clear that he was after European football at this stage in his career. It wouldn't be the first time a player had been talking about Champions League and European football, and then going somewhere without exactly that. Money on the table could do a lot. We pay very good money compared to French teams. I'm sure he'd choose Borussia over us if it was a straight choice, but it wouldn't necessarily have to come to that.
