Santon on their second goal, didn't even try to get back. That is not right like.

But he wouldn't have been able to do anything even if he had, was nowhere near the box when they scored.

I wouldn't blame him for that, he's often pushing forward and it can happen that we get caught on a counter in his flank.

The problem is that he just can't defend. Few minutes after they equalized he got beaten 3 times in few seconds by the player who crossed for Lambert who nearly put them in front again.

He's been defensively poor in too many games now, either he needs to rest or maybe we should start thinking to use him in a different position.

We just got rid of Simpson ffs, we can't afford to play someone who rolls out the red carpet for anyone who's passing by him.

Just watch the incident again, i have and he has a chance to chase it back, wouldn't have reached it tbf, but you never stop and jog not as a defender.

Like you say though, he first thought isn't defensive which is my preference for a defender, needs to learn quick because hairdrier Thursday looked like he can do both.

Yes, I noticed that and of course he should have chased it back, I was just pointing out that he's to be blamed for that but not for the goal, as he could have never reached it anyway.

I was thinking that we should give a chance to Haidara as a LB and try him as a winger, preferably on the right which is his natural position.

Cliché  heaven like.

harmless fun imo, and the fact it winds the mackems up is extra bonus

It is, it's just the beret, ring of onions/garlic and French stick that make me cringe. Then again i hated and still do fancy dress parties

Just looked at bbc websites live feed, all reaction to man city chelsea, not a peep about our game  :dave:

Typical BS - am used to it now

Hardly new, they've been doing it for long enough BBC radio too only time it's different is when we're doing badly. plenty interest then

On the game itself, I can say that it was a rather pleasing day. A solid enough performance for me.

We definitely controlled the first half despite Southampton taking the initiative and scoring within the first 5 minutes. The second half put me on edge when they scored to make it 2-2 but it was pleasing to see that our heads didn't drop and we just kept at it. Another good thing to come from this game is us coming back from a losing position once again (!).

Still would like to know what Pardew says at half time mind. We always come out and start second halves really slowly and that really does let the opposition get back into it. Still, twas a good win and it's onwards and upwards.
