What's Girard like?

He has worked with a couple of our players already, Debuchy and Cabaye to name a few. And if im not mistaken, a couple of the other french players aswell during his time as a national coach. The Under 21's i think. Good attacking football, got Lille to win the league and to the CL. Wants to manage in the PL. (more or less begging for a job in the PL if you believe the papers)

That's Rudi Garcia

Isn't Gerard just exactly the same but with Montpellier?

Don't want Martinez at all. Has to be better options than that perennial relegation flirter

Well you can't do much more than that with Wigan can you?

Bruce did.

Sssh. This forum has no place for such reason and fact.

Don't think the recent sacking of managers will work in our favour (in getting shot of this twat). Can see Ashley and Dekka 'bucking the trend' and favouring stability. Just hope to fuck someone in that meeting has got the statistics to prove we were shit.

Kinda but Girard has worked with Franch national team at all youth levels and a big part of why they won the WC in 98 and the Euros in 2000 behind the scenes.

Didn't really work has a first team manager till Montpellier but youth coaching and behind the scenes stuff.

Benitez would be very interested but it depends on a) getting rid of Pardew and b) him not going to Napoli/PSG. It's looking more unlikely by the day, unfortunately.

I'd much rather have a manager who would see us as a step-up, rather than a step-down.

Aye, that's always worked in the past.

AP The most tactically inept manager in the premier league. :frantic:

Please step forward Mr. Bruce.

Should be a vote, who is most tactically inept manager: Pardew, Bruce, Souness, Kinnear

There are only two jobs in England that are really feasible for Rafa --- Everton and Newcastle. Given Rafa's Liverpool background, we actually got the highest chance.

Sad that those 2 cunts won't sack Pardew.

To be honest, if there is a bid over 25m for Cabaye, we should sell him.

Why ?

Because that's a silly amount of money for a player who is 27 and coming off a pretty average season.

Still love the bloke though.  :smitten:

To reinvest in several other players. Just like we bought Cabaye, Santon and Cisse with Carroll's money.

Would be a massive miss, but that's the way to get stronger and stronger without breaking the bank.

Those tables are crap tbh. QPR attempted 200 less than Spurs, only 21 difference between Stoke & Man Utd...meaningless.

Agree but everybody knows which long passes are completely blind...

I don't mind when we play long balls like we did on Sunday, Cabaye played quite a few into channels for Gouffran for example. It would be interesting to see the proportion of floated, aimless balls compared to actual direct long passes. If only there was someone who could compile the data and produce a visual representation...
