Don't care what anyone says, to still not have a clue what we're doing and talking "maybes" and "possible" with 3/4 weeks til pre-season is extremely poor planning.

They obviously don't care about travelling fans etc. either. I plan a 'last minute' holiday with more time to spare

It's absolutely ridiculous but totally expected. The club is not professional at all, no capability of multi tasking either. During the season they never plan ahead for Transfers or PreSeasons, Or youth setup or anything really and seem to spend half preseason working it all out, it should be in place prior to season end and we should just be executing our plans now

Regardless of what happens in terms of recruitment in the summer, the one thing this club really needs right now, and has needed for a long time, is an MD (or adviser to the MD) who is football saavy and knows how to run a football club. Even if we didn't sign any players of note in the summer, we'd stilll be better for it.

Bodes well for a class season this.

Next season had already been written off long before pre-season, so worry not.

Just strikes me the club is more bothered about making money on pre-season than actually getting the best one in terms of preparation for the new season.  I still believe last pre-season was shambolic and sowed the seeds for the season.

Linked with playing Rangers in the SD derby according to the Chronicle.

Can we be concurrent NETD, WongaTD and SDTD?

Please not at SJP.  Can't be fucked with that lot acting on again.

Aye, said it'd be at Ibrox. Guess they need the money more.

Does anyone know when the fixtures for next season are released?

Asked a while back. IIRC it's w/c 17th.

9am on Wed June 19th says .com.

Thanks

United's players will return to the club in early July for the usual fitness tests, although the extended international seasons endured by messrs Cisse, Debuchy, Cabaye, Tiote, Coloccini and Bigirimana will presumably see them allowed to link up later with the rest of the squad.

IIRC this worked a treat last season.

reseeding of the SJP pitch would seem to indicate that no home friendlies will be staged ahead of next season, but that's yet to be 100% confirmed

Blatantly terrified of losing more money after that Fiorentina game.

The Championship starts on 3rd August this year which would have completely changed any plans we'd have made if we'd have gone down. We were still playing friendlies on 11th August last summer for example.

Not sure what all the fuss is about - people citing that the club should be getting games and dates publicised so fans can make their holiday arrangements....is that really the point of pre-season?

Nut has it spot on, the club can't make arrangements until they know what season they're preparing for. They've seemingly had an iron or two in the fire, which haven't come to fruition due to other clubs/sponsorship and they're going ahead with alternative arrangements.

Or, we can use the lack of concrete info to bash the club, slag off Pardew and write off the season. Who is lowering expectations now?

As for the Man Utd comparison - they're going on a promotional tour to increase brand awareness/merchandising revenues. Of course they're going to be advertising it early, the sponsors want to use their brand as much as possible! The key players may not even travel if they've been on international duty.
