Paul Dummett

Hopefully his form picks up and he continues to improve. I'd like him to sometimes make a challenge earlier but I guess his way is safety first. Ibe carried the ball very far before Dummett would challenge and would pick up a corner each time. But at least Dummett didn't jump in, not get theball, get booked or leave an open attack,.

I made the point a few weeks ago that he's a very reactive defender, certainly compared to Janmaat on the other side. Hopefully he can build on Sunday anyway, much like the rest of the team. Still utter gash in possession mind.

Given the criticism he has had he deserves some recognition for his performance at the weekend.

Was outstanding and Ibe didn't get past him once - to the extent that Liverpool almost completely gave up attacking that side.

Not sure that's entirely the truth [emoji38]

It actually is.

He definitely got beat a few times in the first quarter of an hour

He didn't.

Yeah he's literally just made that up.

In general he's not great defensively, but when faced with a winger who is relatively predictable he's tenacious enough to stick to his task and stop the cross. When the game is more fluid and open he gets exposed.

Dummett and Janmaat are both poor defensively for different reasons really, Dummett because he's just a very limited footballer and Janmaat because he doesn't know when to stay back in position.

Ibe certainly had some success that side in the first twenty minutes.

Without a doubt he did. He won a couple of corners by attacking Dummett and was always looking to beat him. Wasn't anything great from Ibe, was a canny battle between the two but Dummett was solid and getting the better. Still surprising Klopp decided to switch it up though.

Janmaat's poor defensively in a number of ways. Often weak in the air against wide men. Let's runners ghost past him with crosses or through balls. Very much a Dutch RWB rather than a traditional fullback. Doesn't have any defensive instincts.

Pure shit. God knows what happened to him since the injury but plays like colback in being shit scared of the ball. Terrible defensivly and hampers us going forward. His long balls will do him fine down a division or two where he belongs.

He's always been scared of the ball. Now he can't defend either.

Makes Danny Simpson look like a two-footed, risk-taking short passing creative midfielder. He's absolutely fucking garbage and I despise him as a footballer. No ability whatsoever. Worthless.

 his weird stutterstep while looking dead at the ball before aimlessly hoofing it, like he hears the ball scream 'wait wait don't kick me'

making a strong case for LB to become priority signing.

He does it like smacking it out of play for a goal kick requires that precise technique.
