NUFC transfer rumours in the press

Recommended Posts

I refuse to believe no matter who we sell that we'll sign Austin, Mbemba and Abdennour tbh

If we did Ronald De Boer would be tucking into a big thick slice of humble pie tbh.

Hijack! Newcastle plot stunning last-minute move to wreck Man Utd's defender transfer plan

NEWCASTLE have made a late bid for Manchester United target Mason Holgate.

The Barnsley defender, 18, had been tipped to complete a £1m move to Old Trafford this weekend following a three-day trial.

But The Sun on Sunday claim Magpies chiefs have got in touch with the League One club to discuss a deal.

Swansea have also been linked with full-back Holgate, who made his Tykes debut last season.

Holgate, who made 20 appearances for Barnsley last season as they failed to secure a return to the Championship, has less than a year left on his current contract.

Newcastle are plotting a number of ambitious swoops this summer and have already added Dutch international Georginio Wijnaldum to their ranks.

Will be interesting to hear what "the word is" after we've signed Mitro and Mbemba. Will we be looking to strengthen even more? In what positions and what kind of quality. I fucking hope we will, if we don't we're doing the minimal required yet again...

I agree in part, we do need to strenthen further, but in terms of saying we've done the minimum required I'd argue that the quality of these three signings would be infinitely better than anything we've done for some time.

That is true in a way  But at the same time there's been talk of ambition. And if we don't plug the holes that need to be filled then we haven't done what is required, not even near imo. Despite the few signings of potential quality.
