NUFC transfer rumours in the press

Recommended Posts

Its depressing to think that Blackburn spent 8million Rhodes from a League 1 team 3 years ago, Fulham spent 11mill on McCormack and Nottingham Forest 7mill on Assombalonga. Yet last season we would of made more than 2 of them put together probably all 3 and we're looking in the same price bracket as them.

Damn ... when you put it like that we really are a disgrace. Not that I didn't know that already!

I'm just totally underwhelmed to be honest...

We have a backroom team needing 3 or 4 quality coaches and an assistant manager.

We have a team needing about 6 quality additions.

The available funds are being touted from £25m - £60m, I'm sorry but £25m is nowhere near enough for enough of the standard of players that we need.

I'm not one who thinks throwing money around yields results, but £25m is laughable.

Micah Richards moves to Villa today on a free transfer... We currently have Mike Williamson, even to bring Richards in as back-up would have been a start.

I would be underwhelmed, if i hadn't seen the same thing for last 5 years. To be underwhelmed i'd have to of had expectations which i don't. But it's even worse now, they are not trying to come up with exciting rumors but instead we see reports of strikers from relegated teams.

Really struggling to give a shit.

We are obviously keeping our powder dry.

Ah the good old Lee Bowyer summer. Feels like only yesterday.

A lot of people seemed to have missed that key phrase 'pound for pound value' from Ashley's interview. The strategy hasn't changed at all. Cheap shite as per

Players are back in less than three weeks.

Even taking into account the reputation of our regime, surely people  weren't expecting much action before July. One, two signings at the most.

I'm totally on board with the scepticism and worry but perhaps it's not quite time to panic. Like I've said earlier, if we haven't made ANY progress whatsoever by next weekend, then I'll start the onslaught.

If might only be two weeks but there's a big difference between mid June and the start of July, in terms of the transfer market. After all, alot of players are on holiday.

We will all be disappointed come September anyway.

We've done that about twice. If anything we're worse at keeping secrets than we ever were before getting arsey about the media.

Aye, give it another week or so. The club will probably try and inflate the backroom staff coming in into big news, like its an achievement. If we're still seeing no recruits next week then it's quite clear somat's up.

Our media black out tends to be in spite of rags making up stuff about us that's negative. There's a huge irony though that if we don't talk to them then they have nothing to write, so are more likely to make stuff up.

I'm sort of hoping the £25m thing is a rumour they've ran with as they have no official comms on strategy, plus as a bit of a fuck you to stir up trouble.

That's my clutching at straws angle, the sad thing is that it's so Ashley to make out that we are going to invest, then spend much less than what's needed and what we could afford.

Can't remember the last time we signed someone out of the blue. Cisse?
