mrmojorisin75
But we have to be better and more fluid with lots of movement and in possession for it to work for him out wide. again i rate cabella and agree he can play that role if everything is in place, but if the chance was there to swap for a natural, quality wide man i can't see why anyone would resist it? the proviso being we're banking everything on de jong coming good
Ikon
I get your point. I'm hoping that we go for a quality wide man anyway and keep Cabella to have more depth. Some injuries here and there and a suspension or even loss of form in a player and suddenly we don't have much

Some injuries here and there and a suspension or even loss of form in a player and suddenly we don't have much obviously ideally we get rid of obertan and all the other shite but that's just not going to happen is it? hope cabella stays mind, would prefer a 4-2-3-1 myself on further thoughts that doesn't rely on outright widemen but 3 attacking players passing and moving behind a striker
Anon
Lots of players true, but the quality drop off is quite big as you go down the list Yep! Besides, De Jong AND Wijnaldum will be on the pitch the both of them (If De Jong can stay fit) We are well covered there now, but if Cabella goes you are basically left with Perez seeing as De Jong's history can't be trusted and Wijnaldum is highly unlikely to ever play there because we'll need him deeper. tiote, sissoko, abeid, anita, colback, kemen, bigi fucking midfielders all over the place man, some of them are going to have to go Di Maria, Mata, Januzaj, Carrick, Blind, Young, Herrera, Powell, Valencia, Fellani, Lingard, Pereira. We need a squad man, we've been paper-thin for years.

Robbo
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/newcastle-set-sign-aleksandar-mitrovic-6049214#ICID=sharebar_twitter Aleksandar Mitrovic's family have landed on Tyneside as Newcastle tie up a deal for the Serbian striker . Anderlecht are willing to do business at £12million and club officials are now convincing Mitrovic and relatives that Newcastle is the best place for him. Both Porto and Roma have been pursuing him, but the Steve McClaren era is finally swinging into life as Mitrovic is poised to sign a five-year deal. He will join midfielder Giorginio Wijnaldum – who underwent a medical on Friday – as Toon’s first summer signings. Owner Mike Ashley is pledging to splash around £60m before next season gets underway and the promise of all cash being paid up front should encourage more clubs to do business with Newcastle. Wijnaldum’s fee from PSV Eindhoven was £14.5m - but Newcastle will not stop there with at least three more additions expected in the next month. QPR front-man Charlie Austin remains on the radar with Marseille’s Florian Thauvin. And they are pushing ahead with a move for German defender Antonio Rudiger. They are hopeful the 22-year-old Stuttgart star will choose them over Wolfsburg. They are willing to let Fabricio Coloccini leave, if the right offer comes along. However, there has been a change of heart with goalkeeper Tim Krul, who had looked likely to be sold. They will now offer Krul, 27, a contract extension. Slovenian attacking midfielder Haris Vuckic is likely to leave, with Bolton showing interest. As a new era is ushered in and the club head off on a pre-season trip to America tomorrow, Toon have a manager full of hope that the nightmare of last season’s scrap is now behind them. nemtizz
Rudiger is legitimately insane on FIFA. Please sign. Though, he is highly rated, so next to no chance.
r0cafella
Interesting thing is we are actually getting players on our "a list" unlike previous years. It appears our offers are now more generous funnily enough.
Mole_Toonfan
No chance anyone actually signs Colo, we'll have to wait until his contract finishes.

It appears our offers are now more generous funnily enough. It's as if we have realised you can't buy players with donnay socks, or Ashley was so shit scared of our near relegations that it has jumped him into life and now offering sensible, non-piss taking offers. Skeletor
The drop in quality of our central defenders would be quite something. Rudiger to Dummet to Shite. If only there was a complete freak and absolute weirdo amongst our options.
Unbelievable
If not this season, and it doesn't bare thinking about really, the three stooges will all be gone by this time next season as their contracts run out, so a complete overhaul is needed in any case. Might as well start now.
