The Managerial Merry Go Round™ – Dyche leaves Everton

Recommended Posts

It’s still the same crap squad that Dyche had and he’d already made them defensively solid.

Broja got stretchered off last night so likely DCL who’s off at the end of the season and Beto up front. They are very much still in the relegation scrap imo.

They'll stay up but it would be glorious if he relegated them

I’m not so convinced, it’s a pretty much like for like replacement with the squad they have at their disposal. There won’t be much in the way of changing style or system, so they are essentially banking on the emotional connection of Moyes to get them 17th. This is no long term answer, they have just flipped a coin.

They were stable enough under Dyche to survive imo, it’s a risk to bring Moyes in now. I reckon it could go badly.

Moyes is a sideways step, and on a 2 year deal. It shows you exactly where the new owners want to be, just in the Premier League raking in £100m every season.

I think it's more of a case of stay up, steady the ship and look again when someone better is available.

Is it? I don't imagine anyone will get that squad of players challenging for anything without a fair few transfer windows in between, 2 years sounds right to get the club from relegation fight to safe mid table club. We were a bit of a a freak in that regard.

SIR Gareth Southgate relegating Everton would be too fucking sweet [emoji38]

Shit like that never happens to me

Yeah, would be nice if he did something to deserve the knighthood.

Didn’t Moyes just last week say he doesn’t want to be in any more relegation battles

Perhaps he's planning to go down without a fight!

Don't think mid-to-long term its a game changer for Everton at all, but for Moyes himself it's a decent gig. He'll keep them up, probably have a little bit more to spend (I assume) with the new owners, and take them into the new stadium next year.

No FFP issues will remain for a few years. Wages too high, revenue too low.
