Guest antz1uk
I like Rafa but he's not in that upper echelons of elite coaches/managers like
Ronaldo
He absolutely is. His pragmatic style and abrasive, unassuming personality causes him to be underrated, though.
Deuce
I like Rafa but he's not in that upper echelons of elite coaches/managers like Dunno about that. He's won the CL, EL (2), La Liga (2), and a handful of domestic cups. And for City's sake, he's proven he can do the job in the PL.

Guest antz1uk
Top Top level: >Mourinho, Guardiola, Ancelloti > Next level: Rafa, Wenger, Hiddink to name but a few, there is very few Elite coaches/Managers with Ferguson, Lippi being 2 others i'd have placed up there in the past Don't get me wrong, i think he's a great coach but if Man City really are trying to be in that upper echelons of football then they should be looking at the ultra elite of coaches, of which i'm not sure Rafa is one of them. mrmojorisin75
They need a Klopp or Guardiola to build something, they can keep pissing money away and sneaking the odd title but they need to tempt someone top quality and make a statement.

AyeDubbleYoo
City's team itself isn't very good. I've had this thought before as well. Sounds stupid to say when they have the individual's they have, but I'm just not that convinced. Saying that, they can just drop another £100m in the summer. The College Dropout
City's team itself isn't very good. come on. Hart isn't a top GK. One of Mangala/Demichelis has to start, neither is a top quality CB. Kompany is over-rated Fernando/Fernandinho is uninspiring I don't know for sure but can Aguero play up top by himself? On paper are they much better than Arsenal? They could improve the manager certainly. But the team needs a refresh imo. Down that spine. They need players at least on the level of their star men as partners. Nasri, Dzeko etc. are very good players but they need lads in that bracket above. By the way - i'm just talking about being as good as the first Mourinho Chelsea team, the dominant Man Utd teams, Real, Bayern, Barca. that top level where you can sleep walk into a CL semi-final most years. Any team that wins the league 2 out of 3 years is a very good team but to get to the next level. They aren't good enough. Next level being back-to-back league titles, consistently running deep into the CL.
