I'd have thought that the Sports Editor would have got him to tone it down. I also think he got it wrong in essence. I don't think Ange has a false image that he's created for himself, as I think is being implied. I think he's a bit thin-skinned, and stubborn when it comes to dealing with criticism, or even advice. He's struggled to live up to his own ideals, but I don't see him as a phoney. Sports editors basically don't exist nowadays with how razor tight income is now. Ange made a rod for his own back with the media, mind. Made himself prey for the more toxic commentators. The key word / concept that Liew kept returning to was "bullshit". Vindicative or not he was right. Ange is the embodiment of a bullshit artist. I don't mind seeing clowns like him mocked. Need more bullshiters called out. Sick of the fucking excuse-laden apologia for Pardew, Bruce, and the rest. Edited 23 hours ago by gazza ladra

aussiemag
Ange has won the a-league, j-league, Asian Cup, Scottish League, all Scottish cups and the Europa League. It’s not a fluke that he has had success wherever he’s been. Hes not a bullshit artist. Yes, the league form for spurs was unacceptable last season. But the injury situation was terrible and the losses affected the players confidence. Maybe the Premier League level is too high for Ange. A third season would have confirmed or debunked that theory. But he’s not a bullshit artist.
The College Dropout
Ange has had a good career. He doesn’t deserve that from a fucking journalist. I don’t even think Bruce deserves stuff like that. But if a professional footballer wants to stick the boot in - fine - they were colleges at least and they have first had experience of them. But a journalist? Get to fuck. I can't remember seeing him in conversation with another coach, exchanging ideas, and I'm not aware of any particular sidekick / mentor who has worked in close partnership with him. Clough had his Taylor, Ferguson relied on a series of assistants, and of course Eddie has his Mad Dog. Things started off well at Spurs, but when problems arose, I wondered whether he had anyone to turn to for advice or to bounce ideas off? He's been a big fish in a number of smaller ponds, and maybe he's used to being smarter than those around him or those in opposition to him. The Premier League, of course, is different. Outside looking in it would seem a crazy choice. If they got 90 points again next season they'll probably go up.

54
I'm guessing Frank will go down as a legend at Brentford right? It's weird as due to the way they operate, it feels like they don't really attach themselves to players and staff members, a bit like Brighton.
