NUFCDoog
Yeah and even though they did go down the other year, that’s just one season, before then for years and now after, they’ve operated with the same premise of changing manager every few months and it’s worked, so pointless focusing on that one year it didn’t when for plenty of others it did and looks like it could continue to do so. ManDoon is right, it’s all about who comes in and the squad and whilst Watford’s is nothing special they have a knack of getting enough out of them with a change of manager regularly. It’s not for every one and as we’ve seen at loads of other clubs changing manager doesn’t always work, especially as regularly as they do it, but it’s clear that’s what the clubs vision is, they’re not interested in a Wenger/SAF type to create a legacy, they basically just want to stay in the Prem and have found a system that works for them, other than that one off season, but like I say they came straight back up and look alright this season. Its fascinating really as it’s so different to everything we know, and in theory it shouldn’t work, but if everyone at the club is bought in on it, which I seems they are, I guess that’s why it does, they’ve had some random managers as well which is refreshing not seeing them work through the same old PFMs.

1964
The Watford owners are notoriously dodgy, I know a football agent who was told that following the sale of his player they weren't going to pay him. As he wasn't a big agent they basically made him go through the courts, which he did and won His risk was losing everything in legal costs and they thought he wouldn't see it through. Absolute cowboys
Guest
They’ve approached Ranieri. That’s as Watford an appointment as you’ll get. If he’s still there in January I’ll be surprised.
Ashley17
Is Ranieri even any good? The Leicester thing was obviously remarkable but it unravelled quickly without Kante. Seems to go from job to job a lot

Fantail Breeze
Watford’s owners are crazy bastards but they’re making these decisions based on ambition, no? I find it slightly hard as an NUFC fan to criticise owners who want to progress and do better year on year. They may seem to be strange decisions, but they’re demanding an improving team. If that’s not the case and they do it for dodgy deals, that’s totally different - can’t say I’ve read up much on it.

Geordie Ahmed
Yeah, no way he gets sacked They should still win the league with ease If they mess up their CL group then that's when he'll get sacked

Cash in, essentially. Submit the CV and put my name in the margins. Let's get paid, Doon.

They probably have identified someone they think would do a better job more so than that sacked fella's shortcomings. Not surprised from the club that had 3 managers in one season and still went down. It's a sign of an ownership that isn't happy to let things drift, absolute opposite of Ashley so fair play in some ways. Although I'm not sure Ranieri would make things any better so their judgement might be in question. No problem with paying off shite managers though, wish we had that attitude. Consortium of one
Both Watford and us are dysfunctional and I don't know why any manager with an ounce of self respect would take either job, atm. you could say Watford are striving to be better but what about establishing some continuity? What manager can come in and get the respect of his players when everyone knows that, on a whim, he'll be gone? Two different types of madness, IMO. The difference is one lot seem to know what they are doing, the other don’t, have a guess who the other is…
Doctor Zaius
The Watford model has worked for them though. Playoff finishes and several consecutive years in the PL. Night and day when you compare where they were at in the years before the Pozzo family arrived. Ranieri seems to start well before the wheels come off. May as well get him in, they've not looked great so far and was Munoz going to improve? Doubtful. I think plenty of managers are still tempted by it. Marco Silva got the Everton job off the back of a good 6 months there. It's not too much of a blemish on the CV getting sacked there because they sack everyone anyway, no doubt there's a handy enough pay off to go with it too. Guest neesy111
He's been pretty poor everywhere since Leicester hasn't he? He was awful at Fulham, did worse than the manager they sacked. Edited October 4, 2021 by neesy111
