That is soft.Very, very soft.

Howay every striker is gonna go down under that contact.

Minimal contact, minimal.

Yes I can see why it was given, but for me football has to be a contact sport and penalties for this sort of minimal contact PLUS a red card just makes a mockery of the game.

That would not have been a penalty 20/30 years ago.

Football is getting soft as s****.

Still. We played well for 30 mins + so positives.

At least the commentators got what they want...

Totally agree but technically it is a penalty.

Totally agree with you too........................

Just spoils games and is spoiling football imo.

I agree, it was minimal, but at moments like this Suarez gets the better off less intelligent players. Penalty and red card. I wonder more about the fact that it seemed the linesman had flagged for something and the ref didn't even care to talk to him.

Why were we passing the ball around in our own half with no movement?

Lead to Tiote's mistake, which lead to Liverpool getting a foothold and then there pen, we have such a weird team.

How are people feeling about Ben Arfa in this position?

Think it's been huge for our possession play, and it's pushed their centre backs back a bit, as they are aware of his threat.

Could have some potential going forward I think.

Harsh regarding our passing and movement.

The 5 minutes before this penalty - we passed it around in front of our defence in straight lines with zero movement. Tiote, Cabaye, Sissoko, all utterly static. So we passed it around without going anywhere and then give the ball back cheaply to Liverpool.

I agree. Don't think we have been all that great this half tbh- problems with transitional play, movement and attacking(which is rushed) all still evident for me - even the goal was a 'moment of magic'. Too many times the ball went to a forward like Remy who had to attempt to beat several men due to a lack of options to pass to.

Very hard done by. We had the better of them for large parts of that first half, and to get sent off plus a pen for that is ridiculously harsh in my book. I though taking Sissoko off was a bit of a strange one for me. I would have taken Ben Arfa off, whose touch seems off today, and pushed Remy and Gouffran up top, but kept the midfield in place.

It's a red card and a penalty all day long. It's the rules of the game.

Shite rule. Yellow would be enough for fouls like that, save reds for handballs on the line and other clear goalsaving fouls.
