Regardless of points and victories and all, if we continue to try and shut up shop like we did in the second half, it will come back to bite us.

For that, he gets no praise. It's cowardice and West Ham were there for the taking. There shouldn't have been a game with 10 minutes to go.

It has already, plenty of times.

Indeed. There is every chance that his away record this season will better anything Keegan was able to manage, despite the spending power Keegan had at his disposal for much of his time in the top flight.

The way we played in the first half was up there with the best under Pardew. Actually penetrative rather than pointlessly passing it around in the vague hope that the media will judge you as 'attractive'.

Then he goes and Shola's the whole thing and we are lucky to hold on. Typical.

"The spectators at Upton Park could be seen nursing a certain puzzlement. Perhaps they were wondering whether they were at the correct match. Who were these impostors in claret and blue, and what had they done with West Ham? And the opposition: was this Barcelona, or perhaps Bayern Munich, tearing the home side to shreds? What was this? What year was it? So many questions.

Slowly, they realised. This was not Barcelona or Bayern Munich, but Alan Pardew’s Newcastle United."

EVERYONE! Stop everything and pray, pray like never before.

Actually our best bet is Hodgson and England having a mare this year and the FA doing what they do best in fucking things up and sacking Hodgson and hiring pardew. No other attractive job is likely to materialize that will be stupid enough to want him and pardew actually be interested in giving up the cushy job he already has.

Southampton, Hull, and Liverpool (with 10 men) = "plenty of times" ???

We haven't dropped points from a winning position once away from home this season, and have recorded 6 victories. It's an excellent record that fully vindicates his tactics.

Has to be a WUM comparing Pardew with Keegan. Or painfully thick.

Does anyone need to be reminded of the way he has completely outmanoevered Moyes, Hiddink, and Mourinho in the last few months?

How many times has Poyet outwitted him these years?

Poyet "completely outmaneuvered" Manuel Pellegrini the other week too, and Jose. So he can add that to his coveted Pardew scalp.

Bloke must be a f***ing wizard.

And he genuinely thinks Pardew is a tactical genius. :mackems:

Pardew/Keegan debate

Is this a wind-up..!?? Never thought I'd see the day, but it shows how short fans' memories are and how successful the club have been at dumbing down expectations..

what the fuck will this clown do when he doesn't have shola to throw on to try and lose a game?  probably switch willo to striker in the second half of games

crazy that all the people lauding his away record, as good as it is, can't see that it'll come full circle - teams won't consistently miss sitters against you every season...when they start to score them we'll be fucked again, it's more or less how we went from 5th to nearly being relegated

I think he's done a good job this season overall. I'm no Pardew lover, and I think the 2nd half today was a classic example of Pardew shitting himself, but you can't argue with the points total. He's had luck yes, but he's also had some against him as well, last week being a recent example. He's not the man long term, but we won't do much in the foreseeable future with this c*** of an owner. We're f***ed until Ashley goes, our limit will always be outside of the top 4 with the current strategy. Sad, but true.

Jose?

Don't massively disagree with the overall sentiments, but had we taken our chances yesterday, we'd have been 5 up by half time and out of sight.  Both teams missed chances.

You're right yeah, a bit like Southampton who should have been out of sight first half vs the Mackems. I've noticed people reporting more and more often that we can't 'perform' for more than 90 minutes these days too, eventually the penny will drop.

some people nothing pleases them. Do you prefer we are managed by Big Sam, Tony Pulise or Mark Hughes ?

We should be happy to settle because there are worse managers out there?

Give every manager in the premier league the same squad, and at least half of them would do comfortably better than Pardew.

Just because things could be worse, doesn't mean you shouldn't still strive for better.

Irrelevant I suppose as I really believe Pardew would be allowed to take us down and have time in the Championship to rectify his error if it did happen.

suppose if we have hope on the pardew front it may that ashley has decided to aim for younger players (not always of course) with potential to improve on the pitch and of course financially, it's just possible he may try the same with the manager should the time come to replace sackless
