He's saying anything now, tbf it makes him look more of a slimey c*** who will f***ing say anything to cover his own pathetic back.

The guy makes Souness and Allardyce look like saints.

I really dont remember either of the above twats ever being as arrogant and self-aggrandizing as the twat currently in charge? Might be selective memory, but apart from how badly Souness handled the Bellamy situation, I don't ever remember this much random meaningless shit coming out of either of their mouths.

Right, that's it, Pardew's reached a level which I thought was unreachable but he's done it: he's a bigger cunt than Souness and Allardyce put together. Well done cunt, you've excelled yourself.

This. After Allardyce I said that no Newcastle manager would ever get me to hate them as much as I hated him, Kinnear pissed me off but Allardyce was something else. I hate Pardew so much more than Allardyce.

The more I think about it the more I wonder if there's a "them and us" situation going on in regards to Pardew and his coaching team versus Ashley, etc.

Now it's easy to think they're just complicit in everything, but humour me for a minute:

-As Shak has mentioned he must be decimating the resale value of our playing squad at present, which seems to go against the whole ethos of the club.

-He's playing the likes of Ameobi and Gosling, who appear to be on their way out on free transfers. Again totally against the grain.

-He's ostracised Ben Arfa, who apparently is Ashley's "favourite player" and has admitted himself that he "likes the owner".

Earlier on we had all of the stuff from Ashley's side re: Perch's sale, Kinnear coming in to "watch over" things, Cabaye being sold with no replacement, no money being given to Pardew to spend, etc.

Could they be in a standoff? Or is it just wishful thinking? There's probably a fair bit more to bring up, but just put down what sprung to mind.

Very good post Rich.

I said a few weeks ago, I genuinely believe that ashley is scared of sacking pardew for some reason.

Possibly, but if Ashley really wanted rid he'd get rid surely, he's a ruthless businessman ffs.

Something really doesn't add up about it all.  Maybe ashley likes having total tosspots around him because he know's he's one himself?

Honestly just think it would cost a shitload to bomb off Pardle and Co. with their 6 years+ remaining. Though I know there have been rumours about him only being owed a year, etc.

I get the impression, Llambias was wholly behind the 8 year contract.

I've thought before that Ashley might be wanting Pardew to fail, to finish below 10th (Or whatever the trigger position is) so he can bin him off with minimal compo. It's not beyond the realms of possibility.

Or maybe I'm clinging to false hope, as given the prize money surely finishing 8th and paying him off isn't financially much different to finishing 11th and sacking him for nowt.

I dunno. I utterly give up. I only know I want Pardew gone. And if (and only if) that happens, I'll give Ashley the summer to appoint a replacement and get reinforcements in before I decide if I want him out as well.

He had the opportunity to sack him, with no come-back, after the ''head-butt'', so why go through this pantomime?

Maybe, just clutching at straws here, but maybe Ashley hoped Pardew would resign? I dunno but if there did happen to be a stand-off, I'd imagine Ashley is waiting for Pards to walk, which isn't gonna happen. Pardew will want his payoff.

The more I think about the more I think pardew could be gone at the end of the season, but the response of the fans against Cardiff is key

it's a funny one this because i can literally not think of another manager who has come back from a situation like this before, it always ends in the sack, always

but this is ashley, who the fuck knows?  there's hope to be had about his dissatisfaction with our near-relegation last year as well of course...ashley bailed him out that time and just over a year later he's crying to be bailed out again while players like HBA and Marv sit on the bench watching the team fail to score goals

he also presumably shelled out to get de jong in, whom pardew has done literally nothing with

Even if it costs a lot to sack Pardew (although surely if his contract is as heavily incentivised as we are led to believe, it should not be so much even if paid up in full), it would probably mean that they could just buy a player less to cover the compo.

A decent new manager who would get more out of the existing players, who can persuade the good players thinking about leaving to stay for at least another season, who could raise the value of the existing players, who can develop youth, who can play decent football etc, would surely over time make it cost-effective.

Something dodgy surely has to be going on. It can't as simple as Ashley believing in Al Pards as a manager, and therefore keeping him in a job. There's got to be more to it than that. The whole thing stinks to high heaven, from his shocking appointment to the "this ones fur mike" dedications, to the near total silence from the club after the sale of Cabaye and the headbutt incident.

If sacking Pardew meant keeping Ben Arfa but one less signing this summer, (signing :yao:) I'd take it.

Wishful thinking, but perhaps the players have got wind that if the club finishes below 10th, Pardew can be got shot off with minimal collateral. With him being in the stands/out the stadium for the past 7 games, it's given them the perfect opportunity to try and do just that.

That kind of intimates Pardew's tactics and gameplans have been better than what we've seen over the past 7 games, which I don't like to think about actually. But would be nice to think that the players are against him too.
