Watching that interview with Amorim, fucking hell, he’s so far out of his depth

If he’s still there at the end of the season I’ll be amazed

I thought he handled that interview well tbh.

No idea what interview your watching, was quite refreshing.

Amorim had a really odd quote. It was something like "I'm not stubborn, I have my principles and I stick to them."

Isn't that the definition of stubborn?

He seems like a nice guy, I certainly got a lot more joy enjoying Ten Hag fail, but that starting midfield was insanity. It wasn't like Newcastle's lineup was hard to predict. If there is one thing you could criticise Howe of it is that his lineups are predictable.

Amorim speaking quite well imo, not taking the bait from David Craig.

I mean he did say they are in a relegation battle which is a huge woooof moment that you'd never ever expect to hear from the manager of Man U.

Eh ? I was cringing at his answers man

If he’d rather get sacked than change his tactics then fair enough, but don’t say it on camera when you’re on an appalling run  with a billion pound squad and have just set your team up to get battered by picking a shit midfield

They're a much worse team than the Man United team team that was one place above the relegation zone in February and two places above it in March under Ferguson, much less heart too. Shame their are enough exceptionally bad teams to prevent that sort of thing these days.

It's a balance for sure, I always think about Steve McClaren who had decent tactics but didn't have the balls to stick to them when we kept losing. And then he failed anyway.

Who knows but he has to make them harder to play against.

God McClaren was absolutely awful.  Couldn’t motivate a Pitbull.

Amorim made some terrible selections today. But that squad is awful.  It’s worse now than last season. It’s worse than the one ETH inherited.

I get that, but i think it was baiting so he loses his cool. He didn't do that, which is credit to him. Seen that with Howe a bit as well, he never bites to baiting.

Amorim obviously deserves time to try and get it right (they surely can't sack him) but a manager who comes in and tries to force a squad of players to a very particular formation, regardless of whether they're suitable to playing it or not, seems to me to be a huge red flag.

It shows a complete lack of coaching flexibility and use it resources. Even Conte who prays at the altar of 3-4-3 quickly switched to 4-3-3 at Napoli considering the squad he has.

The problem is he's made such a big deal out of the system being his philosophy that by changing things up now he  would undermine himself - caught between a rock and a hard place.

Same as Ange.  It just seems so limited as a manager if you can't adapt the way you play to fit your players.

Eddie Howe: 'the game is constantly changing and evolving".

Robbie Big Coat: "I only have one idea" (he actually said that pre-match [emoji38])

Interestingly Amorim's replacement has already been sacked.

I honestly think he would go back tomorrow, Man Utd need a total rebuild, Scrooge Mcduck runs them and Jabba The Hit owns them, it's gonna take a Harry Rednapp to sort these fuckas out

Bringing in such a manager mid-season makes it a much bigger risk as well.
