Big Geordie Posted yesterday at 10:35 Share Posted yesterday at 10:35 How can a club that's in so much debt, afford to pay for a £2 billion stadium?

No, they turn up in a newer 100,000 seater megadome - perception, yeah? They got to trust me - I'm taking these guys into battle, yeah? By sacking most of their staff, stopping free lunches, refusing to pay a £10 bonus to stewards, making players look after their kit better and raising ticket prices whilst also removing any concessions It's not rocket science Edited yesterday at 10:38 by bobbydazzla
South-Cheshire-Toon Posted yesterday at 10:38 Share Posted yesterday at 10:38 The thing I always find funny is the difference between the concept pictures and reality. How often does Manchester or anywhere in north england look like that - never.

r0cafella Posted yesterday at 10:39 Share Posted yesterday at 10:39 They will have to issue bonds most likely. A tax exile like Jim certainly won't be paying for it. They could issue shares but I doubt they'd be able to issue enough.

They can't....they want the public to pay for it...."in the interest of the North" Balls to them we're the real North....let's ask the govt to fund ournew stadium for some northern regeneration if they actually mean it ( which of course everyone knows they don't). Only way to get "the North" level with the South is to shove Parliament up here....bet we'd catch up pretty quick if that happened Edited yesterday at 10:43 by gjohnson
The Prophet Posted yesterday at 10:41 Share Posted yesterday at 10:41 The Government are being suspiciously vague about what the "Old Trafford Regeneration Protect" entails.
Kid Icarus Posted yesterday at 10:41 Share Posted yesterday at 10:41 I can't get over those images being real like. I get that they're concepts, but fucking hell. Pride before a fall though if anyone saw the original designs for Neom.
Stifler Posted yesterday at 10:41 Share Posted yesterday at 10:41 (edited) I like how they still have a fan zone underneath the roof/canopy, and I like the wrap around displays which are the modern and less obstructive way of having screens. Is it actually going to be a fanzone though, or is it just a club store in a separate building? Overall the design is a bit shit like. As someone has said, it’s like a circus tent, and it is, well a circus tent, a bit of the Millennium dome, and Royal Quays outlet park. I’d hope that our owners have a better design in mind for our stadium. Edited yesterday at 10:46 by Stifler
54 Posted yesterday at 10:42 Share Posted yesterday at 10:42 I love how on back to back days, the owner simultaneously said they needed to cut 300 jobs otherwise they'd go out of business, then followed it up by announcing a 100000 all seater stadium

GeordieT Posted yesterday at 10:43 Share Posted yesterday at 10:43 Hate everything about it. Feels like a homage to commercialism as opposed to catering to the average match going fan.
El Prontonise Posted yesterday at 10:43 Share Posted yesterday at 10:43 Of course they use Norman Foster as well. One of the reasons for the shite architecture we see in our cities nowadays.

We’ll be in our new stadium before they are. Exactly it's 3 years and counting for our considerably richer owners to even decide if any movement is going on. If we got a decision tomorrow we're probably looking at 7-8 years at best for a new home, and probably 10 to stay where we are
Menace Posted yesterday at 10:47 Share Posted yesterday at 10:47 Quote The stadium, and wider regeneration project, have the potential to deliver an additional £7.3bn per year to the UK economy which brings large-scale social and economic benefits to the community and wider region, including the possible creation of 92,000 new jobs, more than 17,000 new homes as well as driving an additional 1.8 million visitors annually.
