Nah, the last 2 seasons have been the drop off a cliff. At least before you were still winning something and competitive. Sorry Jim is way worse than the Glazers. He's fkn mental.

Was just going to say this. Twenty years goes back to the Glazers so I get that, but Man U won the League Cup and finished third with 75 points two seasons back. This is like a gradual decline which turns into a cliff fall in the last two years - not quite coinciding with Ratcliffe and INEOS but not far off.

Jerry Gilmore is getting mauled when he gets back.

Are we sure "Jerry" is a lass?

Regardless of either it's a bit sad someone's took a picture of that and put it out there. Can ruin lives.

Fella should know better like but still a bit cruel

One of the dads I see on the school run is a Man U fan, so I gave him the old chin up son when I saw him after their final. Did something similar when we beat them 4 - 1, and he just spews the same old thing every time "you should see our trophy cabinet, we couldnt fit another in anyway".

Pahahaha. I can see the pain in his face as he says it. I love it, and wont ever let him off the hook :-)

Last two seasons we were in a European Cup final and won the FA Cup.

Ratcliffe is no saint but he's inherited a mess. The Glazers are criminals.

Serious question.

I know someone who was pretty senior at Man Utd and said the non-football side was massively bloated. Something along the lines of when they benchmarked vs their peer group (Arsenal etc) Man Utd had 3 x more people in every office role

How come the money motivated Glazers allowed it to become so bloated when it's just eating into profits. Because they just want their dividend and presumably that hasn't been related to profitability ?

Fat Mike the Cunt took exactly the opposite approach. He was paying Charnley about a hundred grand a year to do a job that in most other clubs would have been covered by at least 4 separate leadership roles and millions in salaries

They completed a leveraged buyout of the club, saddled it with the debt and then used the stature of the club to cover the financial side of things such as interest payments, transfers, wages etc. They got their money every year regardless of profitability/performance and retained ownership of the club and never spent a penny. The club has been able to spend big, as we're a big club with huge revenues. The Glazer's don't care how bad it gets as they can always bail out with a sale and earn billions. Even now, they can sell to Qatar and force Ratcliffe to sell his stake as well due to a clause in the agreement they have. They're golden for as long as they want to be, the absolute cunts.

It's pretty clear since Ratcliffe came in that it's all extremely bloated as well. The redundancies are brutal, but necessary. We shouldn't have double the staff of the likes of Liverpool/Arsenal etc.

As a business decision, has Ratcliffe totally fucked up here ?

Short term I'm sure he's not happy. He bought his stake in the club at a price of $33 per share. It's currently $13 per share after Wednesday night.

Adopts Barry Norman voice...

Mark McManus, the actor best know for playing Taggart, takes the lead role in the sequel to How To Get Ahead In Advertising, the 80's cult classic starring Richard E Grant

Entitled "How to Get Beat in Bilbao", this update to the original plot sees a whisky addled former Manchester United manager and knight of the realm developing a large boil on his right shoulder that comes to life with both a face and voice

@FroggyPenny for your thoughts? Is your Ratcliffe defence still holding strong?

Aye at this moment in time I don't think Ratcliffe has done a great deal wrong. All the financial nonsense is a consequence of The Glazers.
