@Froggy how would you rate your window mate?

Happy with all the signings we've made. Mbeumo and Cunha in particular feel like they'll be class. We could have done with a midfielder, and I personally wouldn't have signed Sesko and would have went with Hojlund for another season and strengthened the middle of the park instead.

Think we've sold OK, but would have liked £15-20m more from the outgoings. Garnacho was cheap but at least has a sell-on clause and not getting a permanent move for Sancho was disappointing but the players dictated those decisions. Antony fee is obviously low but a 50% sell on is huge and if he keeps playing to the level he has in Spain, that could be worth a fortune in the future.

We're sitting at around £150m net for the summer and that doesn't include any future fee for Antony and an almost certain £38m for Hojlund.

Probably somewhere around the 7/10 mark if I was to rate it.

Thanks for the detailed response as always.

We did bite the bullet with £43m on a keeper who was considered experienced and confident, and he's shit.

Hopefully Lammens is the next Courtois.

Like Amorim was the next Guardiola. Decisions seem to be based on supporter-like dreams, rather than hard-nosed professionalism.

Anyway, I do like the way you continue to post on here, despite all the stick.

Yesh it's your CM that's glaring the biggest weakness.

I think people are ruling out Amorim just a little too soon to be honest.

I don't know Lemmens, but he's young for a keeper and he comes from the Belgian league. There's bound to be an element of risk.

Apparently they could have got Martinez, but they baulked at his wages. I do wonder who's making the decisions with transfers. Goalkeeper isn't the most glamourous position, but it's a very important one.

Absolutely weird club. Throw daft wages around willy-nilly, then scrimp on an area and keeper who'd have transformed them.

I think we all hope you stick with him tbh. Early days, but I thought we'd see a huge improvement at the start of this season.

Haven't we though? We're 9th for a start. That's a huge improvement.

If you go stat nonce on it we've been terribly unlucky, and that's before you have the discussion that most of the goals we've conceded this season have been goalkeeping errors.

We've the highest xG in the league. We've the most shots in the league. We've the most touches in the opposition box in the league.

We're averaging 5.3 shots on target (4th in league), but we have a 6.9% conversion rate (16th in league). The chances are being created, so I don't think it's a reflection on the system at all, and I can see why Amorim loses the plot.

In the league, with the exception of a half hour against Fulham, I've been very happy with what I've been seeing. Whereas last season nearly every game was a miserable watch.

City/Chelsea two big games though.

Agree on swapping the Šeško signing for an elite midfielder. Even Kolo Muani on loan. Middle of the park is quite weak for Man Utd and that’s often where a team needs to be strongest.

Yeah I think that would have been better business.

I think the Cunha and Mount injuries will lead to us being stronger in midfield here funny enough. I can see him going with Casemiro and Mainoo as the two, with Bruno and Mbeumo as the #10's.

I'm rarely going into games confident because of the keeper situation though. Goodness knows how the defenders feel.

That's all fine, but after 3 games I don't think we have enough data to use yet and it's solely about the eye test in your games. I haven't seen much to be impressed by so far tbh, I thought your best performance by quite some distance was Arsenal at home, but that you've looked easy to cut through in every other match including a really bad cup exit.

We were easily at our best against Burnley IMO. The Arsenal performance was very good if not spectacular. The Grimsby result and performance was diabolical mind, and I think that's what a lot of people are focusing on.

If we can avoid defeat against City and Chelsea I think we'll be in a decent position as the fixtures become more favourable, but that's easier said that done.

We're not giving up many chances in open play, but I think teams with any sense are going to continue to land crosses on top of the keeper and I can see it being an issue for a while yet.

I actually like Amorim and a coach and person, not a dick like many other coaches in the premiership. You can see he’s sticking by his principles and trying to play good football. Problem is he’s trying that in a toxic environment. Of course I hope Man Utd continue to struggle for our sakes but it’d be nice to see Amorim succeed too.
