And 50% of his managerial appointments. Got to think a lot of the squad will have been put out by the comments

Kid Icarus
Very much a case of throwing this one from inside a glass-less house, but it sticks out like a sore thumb how the statement doesn't actually address anything of what he said, or even mention him. Yeah, it was a media own goal at the very least, even if he wasn't speaking on behalf of the club at the time. But hey, I'm not here to make fun at your club's expense on this point. Not least because you could probably count on one hand, if even that, the number of clubs' fans who would in majority agree with the views of their owners through their history. When he makes wild claims like "Man Utd are about to go bust by christmas" and all the other wild claims in order to push an agenda for his own benefit, it's not exactly surprising that he would say anything a long as it suits his own agendas. That's why those other claims were problematic. Not because they were so damaging in isolation, but they told us something about his mentality, and what kind of person he is. Which most other fans could see from the start when he came in the door at Man Utd. The recent quotes are not surprising at all. Ellis H
Few bits from Popbitch today "Manchester United execs are absolutely horrified at Monaco Brexit billionaire Jim Ratcliffe’s bizarre comments that the UK is being “colonised by immigrants”. The club released a statement on Friday distancing themselves from Ratcliffe and reaffirming their commitment to diversity and inclusion. Well, he can’t really be surprised. During his tenure he’s cut everything from jobs to vegetables and sellotape. And then last year, he came for the freebies. Charities linked to the club, who previously received free tickets to home matches, were informed by email that the Man Utd Foundation would no longer be covering the expense. Given that charity tickets are rather limited in the first place, it was a particularly Scrooge move, even for Sir Jim." "PM writes: “I went to a celebratory dinner at Manchester United with a friend many years ago. While I was queuing for the bar Sir Alex Ferguson was stood in front of me chatting. After a short while he apologised for being in the way and offered to buy me a drink. It was a free bar.”" "Someone else in the Man Utd extended universe who also had a bad week was Frank Ilett, the superfan who is refusing to cut his hair until United win five games in a row. Last week, when the club were actually in danger of winning five in a row for the first time in recent memory, Ilett went into influencer overdrive for the big occasion. He partnered with Argos to deliver him the hair clipping implements and supposedly turned down £50k for a link up with a betting company. Sports journos hoping to interview him ahead of the big event were asked for £15,000 for the privilege - given he’d be sharing the interview on his Instagram. Unfortunately, United drew at game number five, so now the clock resets for at least another five weeks. (But that will at least give Frank the chance to raise his prices again.)" If people are prepared to pay an "Influencer" for their time, then good on him for milking the Hacks, who is the most foolish here, also apparently he his donating his hair (once cut) to a charity that makes wigs for kids with cancer, so I don't think he's exactly the monster they are making him out to be. Is it ridiculous? Yes, but that's where we're at.
