Bimpy474
Amorim speaking quite well imo, not taking the bait from David Craig.

He can't buy 11 new players. I genuinely want him to persist with his system.
midds
These are fucked. Amorim send like a decent bloke tbh and a small part of me wants him to succeed. That said I think the squad he's inherited is completely unsuited to what he's trying to get them to do. He's probably a good manager, there's probably a lot of talent in the squad but the connecting simply isn't there. It'll cost a billion+ to sort it out or change the manager yet again
Jonas
Has any manager been a hit after starting even more unimpressively than what his predecessor was sacked for? I know Ferguson was on the brink there but that was after he spent all that money, I think they initially did improve. Just seems odd to see absolutely no positive signs at this point. The team as a whole, defence, attack and no revitalised individuals.
AyeDubbleYoo
It's a balance for sure, I always think about Steve McClaren who had decent tactics but didn't have the balls to stick to them when we kept losing. And then he failed anyway. Who knows but he has to make them harder to play against.

bobbydazzla
Watching that interview with Amorim, fucking hell, he’s so far out of his depth in a job like that If he’s still there at the end of the season I’ll be amazed Edited December 30, 2024 by bobbydazzla

Geordie_once_removed
Amorim had a really odd quote. It was something like "I'm not stubborn, I have my principles and I stick to them." Isn't that the definition of stubborn? He seems like a nice guy, I certainly got a lot more joy enjoying Ten Hag fail, but that starting midfield was insanity. It wasn't like Newcastle's lineup was hard to predict. If there is one thing you could criticise Howe of it is that his lineups are predictable. I was cringing at his answers man If he’d rather get sacked than change his tactics then fair enough, but don’t say it on camera when you’re on an appalling run with a billion pound squad and have just set your team up to get battered by picking a shit midfield Edited December 30, 2024 by bobbydazzla
Jonas
They're a much worse team than the Man United team team that was one place above the relegation zone in February and two places above it in March under Ferguson, much less heart too. Shame their are enough exceptionally bad teams to prevent that sort of thing these days.

But that squad is awful. It’s worse now than last season. It’s worse than the one ETH inherited.
